I’m thinking ‘Positions’ myself now as she’s the highest non festive track and established enough to be listened to on new year playlists as a classic from the year

That’s right, I keep forgetting about that. But wouldn’t be surprised if it went back to SCR with the new year playlists!
This could come down to whether or not Hot Hits playlists The Kid LAROI in the next couple of weeks  at the moment it does look like he might have stalled too soon leaving it probably between CJ and Ariana. 'Whoopty' hitting #1 would really be such a bizarre moment.
Positions will be on acr though, as will Sweet Melody.
Won't both get reset if they manage to sell enough through the weeK? I'd imagine gift cards and EOY stuff would give them some extra momentum.

The resets will take effect the week after (the 8 Jan chart).

Not sure if any newer hits can get the reset, isn't the bar pretty high? I mean Blinding Lights didn't get a reset after a new version couple of weeks ago.

Only songs that MIGHT get a reset are Head and Heart, Mood and Lemonade, but those aren't sure either imo.

To get a reset they must do like 300-350k for at least half a week or even longer on Spotify, and they haven't done those numbers since early November.

this week people will mostly stream xmas songs, so all non-xmas songs will hit a low, so it will be easier for them to do a 25% increase the week after

but anyway, if on ACR, that leaves them out of the race for first #1 of the year

‘Whoopty’ would be an awful number one to start the new year with after hearing it yesterday for the first time!

It will be interesting, I can see songs getting streamed more this week in comparison to last so sweet melody / midnight Sky / positions might be lucky enough to avoid ACR. I'd like to hope Midnight Sky could possibly pull of a couple of extra streams.

12/12/20

Positions 263,157

Sweet Melody 173,078

Midnight Sky 118,782

Whoopty is the strong favourite now in my view :arrr:

The week after could also be pretty fascinating if there are lots of resets.

Positions is down from 295K to 269K compared to last Friday

I'd take this with a massive pinch of salt, but someone on Pulse Music Boards is saying that Ed Sheeran will release a song titled "The Afterglow" on Monday...

Apparently US radio stations have been given notice of it, they say. (and they've been a trustworthy member for 10 years now)

Why on earth would he release the Monday before Christmas. Next Monday would make much more sense imo

on Mon Dec 21? makes no sense?

Great timing if so! I assume that we'll see several new singles in coming weeks as it's the best time to release considering YE charts next year.

Yeh the streaming age has meant loadsa bug releases happen in January now
