Posted December 12, 20204 yr n2ijz9jLmt4 Chart Analysis Christmas really is here this week: half the chart is made up of Christmas songs, including the one at the very top: girl in red scores her first #1 with two queens in a king sized bed, a cute little song which feels like a perfect build-up to Christmas song. Rina Sawayama finishes the top 3 with two less festive - but still very good - songs, and then the top 10 starts to go a bit weird. Firstly, we've got Bleachers rising back to #4, then our first classic Christmas track at #6 for Christmas Wrapping. And I won't even pretend that Sheesh's chart run makes any sense. Bleachers are also rebounding at #8, even more dramatically, and then there's Blossoms at #9 with their second top 10 hit. Finally, Carly Rae ties up the top 10 with her latest Christmas offering. There's lots of other things happening this week, like Miley Cyrus earning the largest ever fall within the chart: Gimme What I Want's 2-39 run gives it an entirely undeserved 37-place fall, larger than the previous record of 32 held by Perfume Genius, Neon Trees, Katy Perry and beabadoobee. Hopefully it'll recover but who knows! Also slightly embarrassing to see CRJ's cover of Last Christmas entering before the original, but it is a nice version so we'll let it off. Also, yass at Carly going top 10 with her Christmas song. It's probably my favourite of all of the new ones released this year. Somewhere Only We Know <3 Lily's version is beautiful. Underneath The Tree is probably the best Modern Christmas song tbh. It's the most Christmassy sounding one and is insanely catchy :lol: Great chart!
