December 17, 20204 yr Author Lesley Roy has just been confirmed to be back :cheer: More details (and possibly the first play?) of the song are coming early in the new year but the guy who produced it was also behind "She Got Me" and Melfest entries "All The Feels" and "Talking In My Sleep" so hopefully this matches the same standard as those tracks..
December 17, 20204 yr That's a good precedent of songs there! The HoD has described it as 'catchy' as well so should still be something relatively boppy.
December 17, 20204 yr Hopefully its good, i seen a piece in todays sun about it saying more information would be released in January.
January 2, 20214 yr Liam Reilly who represented Ireland in 1990 with the brilliant Sonewhere in Europe coming 2nd to Italy sadly passed away suddenly yesterday. RIP Liam. Edited January 2, 20214 yr by Feel_The_Fever
February 26, 20214 yr z6ZUBzqPxds This sounds more competitive than Story Of My Life. The production is much more modern and dramatic, and I love the strings. The chorus is strong too, and this will be joining my current top five in short order.
February 26, 20214 yr Very good! I liked Story Of My Life more because that was very late 00s which was an era I loved but it was never going to do well, I think this could actually. I’m really impressed!
February 26, 20214 yr First listen - this is ok. Second listen - eugh, I'm getting bored. Third listen - wow. My new 1st place.
February 26, 20214 yr The opening strings remind me of the post card music from one of the mid-10s contests.
February 26, 20214 yr First listen - this is ok. Second listen - eugh, I'm getting bored. Third listen - wow. My new 1st place. Yes, it's certainly going to be a grower for many. First listen I thought 'this is well produced', second listen it started to sound catchy and third listen I loved it. I'm not sure how well that will translate to televotes where an instant impression is needed but hopefully a great performance and staging will also bring it to life straight away.
February 26, 20214 yr "Story of My Life" is only one ESC song, which I like from 2020 line-up. Fresh entry sounds too modern for me. :(
February 26, 20214 yr I'm not sure how well that will translate to televotes where an instant impression is needed but hopefully a great performance and staging will also bring it to life straight away. This is my worry. Story of my Life was instant. Most people are deeming this to be better than Story of my Life. Edited February 26, 20214 yr by Colm
February 26, 20214 yr Better than last years entry but then so was a sledgehammer to the balls. This feels much more accomplished but the immediacy isn’t there. Juries could get it over the line and/or they could juxtapose it with staging to tell the story?

Let's hope the re-caps are favourable on the night of the contest.
February 26, 20214 yr I LOVE this!!! She could make this very anthemic with the live performance, especially during the build-up to the last chorus.
February 27, 20214 yr I prefer story of my life based on first few listens maps doesnt have a stand out chorus for me, on first few listens I think we will struggle to qualify but staging could play it's part.
February 27, 20214 yr There has been widespread and overwhelmingly positive reaction to this song. It is being almost universally hailed as better than Story of My Life. I've even seen 3 men get emotional about it in the vast array of reaction videos in YouTube. My point is that it has a much better chance of qualifying than Story of My Life (which I love and is in my top 10 of 2020) Edited February 27, 20214 yr by Colm
