December 2, 200618 yr I think the Bay City Rollers track killed it for them, if younger viewers voted in their masses, they won't know that track. Ray will go next week Yeah but none of them would remember Sinatra either My nephew (10) only knows Sinatra as "that dead guy who made records grandpa liked"
December 2, 200618 yr Had Ben or Leona gone out I would not of watched the rest of the series. The fact is I am going to miss the rest of the series though from being the social bunny :D! But I will record/watch repetes had one of Ben or Leona gone I would not of watched repetes or recorded it Edited December 2, 200618 yr by martyn

December 2, 200618 yr I hope Ben comes 2nd though tbh as that way he is not tied up with Cowell and forced to sing cheesy cover versions and then disappearing without trace after 1 album of covers, coming 2nd he will have much more artistic licence in his record deal

December 2, 200618 yr They said that barry sang live.. he obviously mimed! A bit of a let down.. seeing that even westlife sang live ...

Look at Will Young.
December 2, 200618 yr He doesn't HAVE to be. Look at Will Young. Will Young never had a deal with Cowell though
December 2, 200618 yr I can't remember the format of the original Pop Idol but I thought Cowell was really just a judge on the program and got famous through it but Simon Fuller was top dog and the record deal for Will Young was with Fuller's company

He had the backbone to ditch his management and do what HE wanted to do rather than what OTHERS want him to do.
December 2, 200618 yr He doesn't HAVE to be. Look at Will Young. Kelly Clarkson and Will Young both released debut albums that were quite compromised though. For example, Will Young still had to sing about girls on his first single. If Ben wins, his first album would be more MOR than he'd want. And then it would be harder (though not impossible) to become a credible rock singer with his second.
December 2, 200618 yr Well whatever. He had the backbone to ditch his management and do what HE wanted to do rather than what OTHERS want him to do. I have a lot of admiration for Will Young and own his albums and Ben is the only contestant this year who's album I would 100% buy
December 2, 200618 yr Ray to be eliminated next week, and then we can have a proper final with the best two acts in it, which has not happened since the first series of Pop Idol. I agree. ^_^
December 2, 200618 yr Thank **** them t**** have gone! So glad the talent got through :cheer: Leona, Ray  And **** you Louis :cheer:

December 2, 200618 yr simon cowell wasn't on pop idol, was he? I thought he was a judge along with Pete Waterman and Dr Fox
December 2, 200618 yr Will Young never had a deal with Cowell though  After Pop Idol Will and Gareth were both signed to S records..which was Cowells label at that time. Simon, Neil, Nicky and Pete were the judges on the show.
