For gay icons, I think I'd go for a big soap character, maybe a glam Peggy Mitchell or a campy comedy Deirdre Barlow with a funny runway presentation. I was thinking Big Brother but like imagine being read the house DOWN for coming out in Nikki Grahame's simple black bikini from the WHO IS SHE!!! video :rofl: My hometown is Bristol so I think I'd have to do something to do with the Suspension Bridge or potentially the Balloon Fiesta even but a shapeless hot air balloon outfit would be ugly :lol:
January 14, 20214 yr Hometown look for Portsmouth would either be some kind of "Sailors uniform but make it fashion" or some kind of sexy Spinnaker Tower. Honestly wouldn't be able to come up with any kind of gay icon that wasn't done on the show tonight already. The fact that we had an outfit based on Alan Turing shows that the queens themselves were already struggling!

January 15, 20214 yr Honestly wouldn't be able to come up with any kind of gay icon that wasn't done on the show tonight already. The fact that we had an outfit based on Alan Turing shows that the queens themselves were already struggling! Do you think? I would say Alan is one of the biggest British gay icons there has even been. Maybe not the most well known, but the things he has done were extraordinary.
January 15, 20214 yr I was thinking about this yesterday evening actually and my first thought for Icon was David Bowie, of course. But then I thought that Bowie would probably be a very obvious figure to do (and ofc Joe proved that by picking him). My next thought was Pete Burns, but The Viv’s homage to him last season was probably the reason for them doing a Gay Icons category this time around. So for the sake of originality I have settled on either doing Adele, Kenneth Williams, Kylie Minogue (as she’s practically an adopted UK citizen) or Emma Chambers aka Alice Tinker.
