December 4, 200618 yr Maybe not - chart battles inflate sales. If Westlife hadn't had the chart battle publicity I doubt they would have sold as much week one. You never know though. I would say that TT will sell a million by the time the last single is released. They can clean up at Valentines AND mothers day as well if they get it right. The other thing is, and it was mentioned earlier, the album has had great reviews and it is truly excellent. Nostalgia will take them only so far, I hope that the quality is recognised.
December 4, 200618 yr I think they should of waited till after 2006, They've had a good start but the album sales are gonna bomb in like the end of year charts But they are better off releasing around Xmas in order to get higher sales overall. Look at the Arctic Monkeys for example, they started off huge and everyone expected it to sell 2 million but it then seemed to stop selling <_<
December 4, 200618 yr I think they will remain #1 next week and then Oasis will knock them off the week after. :D
December 4, 200618 yr i cant see oasis getting number 1 this side of 2007 I definatly see them reaching #1 for at least 1 week before the end of the year. Greatest Hits generally sell more over time, Stop the Clock has had very good sales the last 2 week and will contine to up to Xmas. It's between TT and Oasis and since TT sold far less in their first week I definatly see Oasis overtaking them at some point. ^_^
December 4, 200618 yr Author I wonder if Take That could be bigger now than ever before? Robbie Williams became the most successful UK artist in the past decade because he reached out to fans through all generations young and old. With his splitting from Guy Chambers and his move to rapping, he has lost a large chunck of his audience. His music is vastly different from Angels or his swing Album. Meanwhile, Take That have mellowed. They have lost that camp boy band image. People aren't ashamed to say they like them and Mark Owen's Shine will move them closer to being cool. It's an amazing acheivement for them to come back and move their image on. Perhaps Take That are about to become the new Robbie Williams and will be Britain's biggest act? That they didn't pile on extra sales in week one that they didn't need to get to number one, could be an advantage. I think they will definately be number one next week and they will sell over a million copies. The media bandwagon with all their appearences and remaining at number one might keep them there longer.
December 4, 200618 yr shine is a great track and has to be a single its so so catchy i think they will be just as big if not bigger than before

Personally I dont think they will be around in lets say 3 years from now. I just have a feeling. <_< In Britain, as far as album sales go I don't think they will become the biggest act. Other acts out there sell much more, such as Coldplay, James Blunt and Dido etc who is releasing soon apperently. Wether they will become the biggest boyband is another question. It's hard to predict. They are undoubtably the best boyband. I do think their album will sell more than Westlife in total though, and they drew far more people on tour than Westlife do. ^_^ Personally I am dissapointed with the new album. I find it far to samey for my taste, the few upbeat tracks are good like 'Shine' and 'Reach out' but there are too many ballads imo. Robbie's 'Rudebox' album reached #1 in 15 countries though and his last album (Intesive Care) is his biggest selling album worlwide to date, but in the UK people would rather he was churning out ballad after ballad instead of trying something new  Overall though he is probebly still the UK's biggest solo act and he is releasing another Swing album next year which will no doubt sell alot more than Rudebox since it will please most of his fans. Personally I would much rather another Rudebox sounding album than Swing -_-
December 4, 200618 yr i wonder have take that a plan, how long they will stay together this time,i cant see them trying solo careers again if they split or maybe they will but try it differently this time
December 4, 200618 yr i wonder have take that a plan, how long they will stay together this time,i cant see them trying solo careers again if they split or maybe they will but try it differently this time I don't think they have anything planned. They said on GMTV last week that they were just going with the flow really. They said they might tour the album next year but nothing was official.

Robbie Williams will hate seeing Take That outselling him in the UK and I bet his next album will pull out all the stops. I also can't help thinking: is Gary Barlow planning to relaunch his solo career when Take That split up again! He must surely be thinking he could get another solo number one when Take That break-up!
December 4, 200618 yr gary got alot of c**p when he was solo so he may well stay well clear of that again, personnally i always thought gary was far more talented than robbie and robbie was a far better entertainer
December 4, 200618 yr Author i wonder have take that a plan, how long they will stay together this time,i cant see them trying solo careers again if they split or maybe they will but try it differently this time I think Gary Barlow might do well with his fist single, after another Take That break-up but he would fall into the same problem as before, sounding too bland. He's better off with Take That, singing most songs with three backing singers! Although he could have a whole album of number ones, with his three solo number ones (assuming he had another one) and if he sang solo the Take That number ones.
December 4, 200618 yr Although, Robbie is very competitive, I think he is actually very happy for the lads myself. The press make it into a big war, but they all met up and get along fine. If he was really bothered about Rudebox's sales then I'm sure he would come over and promote it which he has'nt done at all yet :( I don't think Gary will be silly enough to go solo again, he just does'nt have 'it' imo. I don't really like his voice alot and found his solo material really bland. He is far better off writing songs for others or remain in TT, but as a boyband they can only go so far. I mean they are'nt getting younger and seem to be still keen on doing all the dance moves
December 4, 200618 yr i think take that can go on for a long time as there will be a market for them for a long time, they dont need the dance moves either as there songs do hold up for themselves plus they write there own material. i cant see gary doing a solo career again but i really liked his solo albums especially his 2nd album whisch i sstill listen to from time to time

Although he could have a whole album of number ones, with his three solo number ones (assuming he had another one) and if he sang solo the Take That number ones. I agree fully. His solo stuff was to bland and he did'nt have enough charisma to last as a solo artist for a long period imo. I think TT may do another album after this but who knows, I dont think even they do.
December 4, 200618 yr The one thing that the Audience..... With Take That on Saturday night proved, was that Gary is a great singer (as well as a great songwriter), but as a performer he needs the other three to carry him, because he has as much charisma and stage presence as (the vocally fantastic) Leona on XF3. That is something that Gary himself has admitted to in his recently released autobiography. Therefore, I think he would be wise to stay within the band.
December 4, 200618 yr I AGREE,he is atalented as in singing and writing etc but he sometimes looks awkward on stage

Personally I would much rather another Rudebox sounding album than Swing -_- Well Robbie has said himself that he'll never go back to doing what he did before again as he's already covered that ground. He has nothing to lose hence why he's trying new things with the Rudebox album and tbh he's far more interesting than he was now imo as Rudebox was the first Robbie album I've bought in YEARS but as it's proven so far even though it's not as much as usual he's proven he can sell well because of who he is while doing what he wants to do i.e. something new rather than the same old stuff he's always been known for doing. With Take That however I think how this'll last will depend on how long they're all happy to keep doing this again basically.. but this album should do ok but judging by how good Robbie's next single is then if he's actually here to promote it then Robbie will have the bigger selling album but I'm sure neither are bothered about their sales that much really.
December 4, 200618 yr im sure the money from take that will help the guys out to with the exception of gary as he is loaded anyhow, but im sure mark lost alot money as he paid for his 3rd solo album himself and it didnt even make the top 100 as far as i know
