Welcome to the weekly ACR Status Updates thread! This is where you can find out the current streaming ratios of the songs in the official top 100. Please note - I don't receive information every single week, so if no thread materialises, there's no use nagging me - it means I genuinely don't know the status of any songs! Updates can also materialise at any point over the weekend but I'll always try to ensure I do it before the First Look chart update if I receive the necessary information.

If you're wondering what ACR and SCR are, here's a quick reminder:

SCR = Standard Chart Ratio. All songs enter the chart on SCR, which means their streams count at the following ratios:

100 premium streams = 1 sale (e.g. a premium Spotify account, Apple Music, Tidal, etc)

600 ad-funded streams = 1 sale (e.g. free Spotify, YouTube, etc)

ACR = Accelerated Chart Ratio. Once a song has charted for at least 10 weeks, and declines in streams for three consecutive weeks, it is put onto ACR. This means its streams are effectively HALVED, and count at the following ratios:

200 premium streams = 1 sale

1200 ad-funded streams = 1 sale

Songs older than 3 years old are automatically on ACR.

The terminology used in this thread will be the official terminology used by the OCC. The explanations are posted in each update to assist you.

Filling in for Joseph this week! Sadly no songs moving to ACR though :(

Massive thanks to coi for posting this this week!! Very kind of you

Afterglow swerving :frankie:

Afterglow avoiding is pretty annoying. Hopefully it’ll fall out the top 20 anyway

I don’t think we need a massive shake up right now so I’m ok with most older, higher up songs having a few weeks left (as long as it is just a few weeks and not months x)

Evil mastermind genius Ed Sheeran clearly timed the release of 'Afterglow' precisely so the Valentine's Day streams boost would give it the optimal SCR extension!!1

- BuzzJack, probably

'Martin & Gina' still not even going to DCL-1 despite falling 5 places this week - I doubt it'll be dropping out of the top 100 until it eventually hits ACR at this rate so it's probably coming to get to 22 weeks top 100 minimum with a peak of #54, that has to be approaching some sort of record if it's not one already!

Peak outside Top 50 and more than 20 weeks top 100

"Jumpman" by Drake & Future, peak 58, 29 weeks

"Lollipop" by Mika, peak 59, 22 weeks

"Butterfly Effect" by Travis Scott, peak 57, 22 weeks

"A-Punk" by Vampire Weekend, peak 55, 21 weeks

Ahh, still a little way off the record then (although I think these songs may all predate ACR? 'Lollipop' and 'A-Punk' both of course predating the streaming era entirely, not sure about the Travis song though). Should be good to at least tie 2nd place though!

Ed Sheeran aside, it is annoying to see Paradise, Get Out My Head and Without You going back to no weeks of decline as they’ve already spent long enough in the top ten.

Butterfly Effect did achieve this during the ACR era! (The run was between July and December 2017)

I see! ACR rule started around June/July 2017 right? I just looked up when the Travis song came out and it was in May 2017 so interesting that the start of that run wasn't until a good 2 months after the song was released, could have had a few more weeks at the start of the run for free if it had caught on a bit quicker!

Yep, ACR started at the beginning of July 2017, before it had entered the top 100 at all. Also it's interesting that as many as 20 of its 22 weeks in the top 100 were spent just in the top 75! Really feels like it should have been a bigger hit, but at the time his only top 40 appearances had been on Major Lazer's Know No Better and a Drake album track.

I’m glad nothings on ACR - the only song that has seemed to have been there ages is maybe Shane Codd, doesn’t seem long since Xmas!
  • 2 weeks later...
We don't have an update this week. We got one very very late for last week and it won't be going to ACR just yet though
