100 The Fratellis "Creeping Up The Backstairs"

Their first single from earlier this year. Wasn't something I liked loads to start with but grew on me the more I heard it. From a good album though it does have some duff tracks on it. NOT their best single :)

Despite nicking the intro from Sum 41 of all bands this was still fairly good. One of just two tracks worth listening to on the awful album.

Even though it is a complete rip off of the much better SOS it's grown on me rather a lot recently. The only song released in December to make this countdown. Jay Z, The Rapture and Outwork were all eliminated in the last stage...

Marvellous. Despite their first two top 40 singles being complete dross their next two are both excellent. The other to come later. Excellent video too, worth watching.

Did release two singles this year but this was their best. Nobody Move... just missed out. Cash Cow should've been released.

The first of four very different songs which reached number one in my top 100. I do still like it but nowhere near as much as I did when it came out. Infact, the only song this year that reached number one on my personal chart that is lower is Fall Out Boy which I now dislike and wouldn't even have made a top 200!

The only good song they've released in their last four. Don't think I've ever been able to say that about them before. Still, they've been better than the last four Girls Aloud singles.

The first and only Rakes song I like. A generally awful band who are even worse live. Really cringeworthy that was. But appreciate the greatness of this :)

Another band I hate. This was excellent and for once Karen O wasn't quite screeching all over the place.

yay! for mandolins. I feel that they should be used MORE in music. I like his voice, not heard anything else by them that's this good though.

R.I.P. :(

Sadly the band have now split. It's a shame as they made decent records but couldn't get any chart success. Oh well, it's not as if they were amazing and I'm sure I'll live

Used as the lead track off the "Who The **** Are The Arctic Monkeys? EP" this is one of the albums better songs but there are certainly better (Mardy Bum, A Certain Romance, ...Dancefloor & Still Take You Home). Their second and final entry.

The first song I ever heard by them. Not their worst but not their best (still one more song to come...) Very catchy and gets stuck in your head!

I really think that I should hate these but they make catchy pop songs which grown on me rather a lot and I can't help but like them. Not an amazing band and probably aren't deserving of their success. Not their best song but their best single from this year.

Two good dance songs mashed together to make an even better one. I didn't like it so much when it first came out but it's grown on me over time. Quite a lot.

Some quality songs in here so far, Mark

Big ups to: The Fratellis, We Are Scientists, Arctic Monkeys, Spinto Band, Hope Of The States, Hot Chip and The Kooks

 Again, something I should hate but is actually really good. Her other single "Knockdown" was good too but I prefer this one.
