065 Young Knives "Weekends And Bleak Days (Hot Summer)"

First song of theirs that I liked. It's rather good and should've been a bigger summer smash. Superb lyrics and a decent video too.

064 Pendulum "Hold Your Colour"

The title track off of one of the best albums I own. Drum n Bass hadn't been a genre I was at all interested in until I first heard these. It's not as good as last years "Slam" but is still rather marvellous.

063 Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'"

Second best number one single of the year, easily. I really liked pretty much all of their first album so was quite glad when they came back. I really liked this song to start with but less so now due to overplaying by me, radio and tv.

This is the first song I heard by them about two months ago. Loved it from first listen and downloaded it straight away. Great band who will hopefully break through a bit more next year!

061 Belle and Sebastian "White Collar Boy"

The first B&S song on here. Although the album is really fantastic it took a while for me to like anything apart from the three songs which were to be released as singles. Now I would only put one single in my top 5 on the album. And it's not this...

060 Muse "Supermassive Black Hole"

Their best single of the year by quite a way imo. Starlight is also pretty good but Knights of Cydonia is their weakest single ever. For me anyway. Their album still isn't one that I've purchased even though I've been "meaning to" ever since it came out in the summer. I've never even heard it all the way through but the songs I have heard don't really make me want to go out and buy it. I'll probably won't get until I see it for something like £4 somewhere...

059 The Boy Least Likely To "Be Gentle With Me"

Yay for random songs. I don't know about anyone else but I think they're probably the most "fun" act I've heard all year. It's a lovely song

So insanely catchy and a song that often get stuck in my head even though I have no idea what he's saying with is Dundee slang. Second single "Superstar Tradesman" was quite $h!t but the next single "Same Jeans" is actually quite good

057 Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars"

A song that should may be a bit higher, but I can't say I've ever been a HUGE fan of it and I've probably been caught up in all the hype that's surrounded it. It's had a fantastic chart run. Was used so effectively at the end of the Big Brother series

My favourite song of theirs, utterly brilliant piece of indie dance. For a band that would appeal to fans of many genres I can't quite see why they aren't bigger...

055 The Knife "Like A Pen"

The first of two Knife songs to appear but the only one to be by The Knife. A lot of blips and blops makes this song magnificent. I shall probably purchase their most recent album fairly soon as "Deep Cuts" is fantastic and this song would fit in amongst the best on it.

Superb MoR-pop from these. A song I heard well over 12 months ago and reached the top 5 of my personal chart on both of its releases.

053 McAlmont & Butler "Speed"

A fairly low-key return from the guys that made one of the finest songs of the 90s in "Yes". This was a pretty good single even though it was fairly generic and nothing groundbreaking. Good, litenable pop music.

No video of it but a live performance...

052 Peter, Bjorn & John "Let's Call It Off"

Came publics attention with "Young Folks" in august which was a really good example of a song entering the top 40 because of quality alone. This was their second single which IIRC didn't make the top 75. Pretty good though there are better songs on their album...

The second and final entry for her. As I said earlier, she really is great and deserves more success. If anyone is a fan of the female singer-songwriter type like Nerina Pallot then you should check her album out.

Rather obscure. Doesn't have a video and I can't be bothered to upload it at the moment :P Described as a Welsh rap artist though it's certainly the more commercial side of it. I would like to predict big things for him but I won't because I'll probably be wrong!

Despite reaching number one on my chart this isn't his highest position on this chart. One of just three acts to have two songs in my top 50! I thought this would've been bit bigger this summer, but it wasn't to be... :( According to youtube this was released first way back in March 2005 but I didn't know...

And from the first act with two top 50 entries to the second... The follow-up to the huge selling "Crazy" was a flop in comparison but still did alright. One of the best songs from a pretty good, but not amazing, album.

It doesn't matter that this song has a simple tune, even though it's not what I'm supposed to do...

I wasn't a huge fan of this when it first came out but I downloaded it when the second single came out and then started to like it more than "Chronicles...". I shall probably have to get the album at some point as "War Of The Worlds" is pretty good too. An extremely talented singer/songwriter!

I thought that this song was going to be a lot bigger than it was but hitting the top 75 was still respectable. Lead singer Beth was this years NME Cool List number one. Extremely powerful voice. Oh and proof if ever you needed it that you don't need amazing looks to sell records :smoke: Not that she isn't fabulous ^_^
