Amazing numbers if you consider all 3 but sadly it won't be enough for number 1 :(

Yeah, he ate his own streams and of course it's not on HHUK.

You’re expecting a big fall for Drake then as that’s way higher than Olivia?

We all know what ruin charts not streaming it blood tick tock we got right dodgy songs because of tick tock. Some time work own know song . Most time keep songs longer chart because of tick tock. Blame 70% tick tock fault chart gone slow top end last 3 week.

I wish took away 30 seconds song rule have play song full make count

Of course he will fall during the week while she will stay stable. He needed more first day streams to cover the gap for thr rest of the week.

I do think Drake will get to #1 this week, but its not quite a done deal yet. Calling My Phone had more than a 200k lead on its Spotify debut over drivers license whilst Drake has 120k. He'll probably hold up well enough, I guess we'll see tomorrow's

'Laugh Now Cry Later' did 375k in its first day on Spotify, so all three of the new songs have beaten that by 100k+ (well technically just slightly under 100k for 'Lemon Pepper Freestyle'). LNCL had a first week total of ~43k which is more than Olivia Rodrigo did last week, so unless 'What's Next' is a lot more frontloaded than that I think it should be good to get #1 - I would think that beyond the initial hype of the EP drop which is dividing the fanbase's attention between the three songs, we'll see 'What's Next' holding up far better than the other two and possibly increasing?

Having said that though LNCL held up very well during its first week (its daily numbers for the first week went 375k - 357k - 314k - 377k - 388k - 356k - 377k) so this song being a lot more frontloaded is entirely possible. Guess we'll have a better idea tomorrow ~

TikTok is the reason songs take off, not really the reason they hang around quite so much. They hang around because people's tastes move slowly - songs get played for weeks and often months down the line because they're popular! Playlists help too of course but the general public's tastes typically won't move as fast as an active music fan like most of us here (for example, nothing in my personal chart top 10 is over 3 weeks old because there's so much new music out there for me right now...!).

The reason the top end of the chart has been so low is partly due to a lack of *huge* new releases recently, but also partly because we had a heap of songs going to ACR a few weeks back and naturally, it's left us with a bunch of songs that were, at the time, growing in popularity / quite new. As a result, their time for ACR still hasn't come yet! After a mass ACR exodus, it's natural to have a more stagnated chart while the market catches up again.

Would get rid 30 seconds Song rule Joseph make play song full make 1 streaming point. Stop people keep play 30 seconds of songs get number up
Yes, the scourge of people skipping songs after 30 seconds is totally what keeps old songs hanging around the chart ~
I bet that would take off at least 5 of their weekly sales

‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ had a better hook and sounded a lot more commercial than any of these three but we’ll see. Guess that makes charts interesting. Genuinely can’t call this week yet.

Well Olivia only sold 42k last week and everything else well below 40k so this will be an easy week for Drake to get a #1 even if it doesn't do as well as might have been expected (and regardless of the quality of the song naturally).

As for the continued stagnation of the charts, unfortunately I can't see this changing in the foreseeable future due to streaming.

I must be the guilty one on that part, I do that.

I feel like 31 second skips are more likely to happen on new songs (ie people sampling them) rather than established hits, so if anything that's making the chart fresher(!)
