Having sat with the album for a week now. I deffo think it touches base with all her albums sonically. Honeymoon with layers of Ultraviolence. I think it might be her most ambitious album so far lyrically & sonically.

As a whole, the album is stronger than Chemtrails for me. I agree it seems sonically to draw something from all of her albums so far.

Dealer was very unexpected!!

Didn’t realise Elton was also out this week maybe he’s her biggest competition?!

Gonna listen to this after work tonight. I usually love her albums so I’m excited. Always find my favourites from her are on the album too the pre album stuff is never the best stuff on there for Lana I’ve definitely found that to be a pattern since Ultraviolence.

Relatable queen writing a song about gaining weight during lockdown :D
She got a 7.7 review on Pitchfork

This hasn’t really grabbed me at all on first listen.

I kinda found a lot of it merged into one and aside from Dealer and If You Lie Down With Me nothing made me wanna think I’d listen to that again. I’m gonna give it another go as I usually love Lanas albums but this hasn’t done much on first listen sadly. Chemtrails was much more instant for me.

One thing I’ll say about this album is that it’s quite cohesive but I had to actually check a few times to see what song was playing as they seemed to merge into one.

That always happens on first listen. I never judge albums on first listen.

Mariner's Apartment Complex???

have only listened to this once so cannot judge but Chemtrails is amazing and almost on par with NFR

Managed to get the standard vinyl in hmv today so it looks like it’s just the variants that are delayed.

I’ve had this on repeat since yesterday morning and I’m loving it. Too early to compare it to her others yet but it’s another great album in her discography, and much more instant than Chemtrails was for me.

I really enjoyed it too when I listened earlier, having bought the CD yesterday. The songs I saved on my playlist (in addition to those I'd heard before) were Dealer, If You Lie Down With Me, Beautiful, Violets For Roses and Living Legend, but I'll certainly be giving the album as a whole more spins too.

For me it felt like there was a little more sonic variation on the album than there usually is on a Lana album.

Lol, no x It is trash and NFR is one of the best albums of all time, sooo... not even in the same league.

Dealer is #114 in the US and #135 in the Uk

Number @1 hit incoming 😅

yes finally the Tiktok generation discovering Lana <3

This album sounds like Lana Del Rey trying to do Lana Del Rey. She seems very unrestrained like in her Lizzy Grant demos, but also like she's reaching for the catchier melodies of her first few albums. It's like she's indulging herself and holding herself back at the same time. In a way, it seems like her most authentic album. Not sure if that makes any sense? 😆

I think you could get a truly great album out of this and Chemtrails. I haven't let Blue Banisters percolate enough but it would go something like this:

Arcadia

Chemtrails Over The Country Club

Let Me Love You Like A Woman

Dark But Just A Game

Black Bathing Suit

Yosemite

Living Legend

Breaking Up Slowly

If You Lie Down With Me

Thunder

Wildflower Wildfire
