Given that they are both Christmas number 1s its shocking how low Too Much and Goodbye still are.

2 Become 1 is in another league of popularity.

The Viva Forever remix is doing very well.

Would love to see the How does it feel remix take off. The world cup started yesterday and it is England's first game today so be interesting to follow its progress. Madness to think 24 years later it is finally adding sales to its total.

Spotify update!! 🎉

“Spice Up Your Life” has finally reached 100 million streams - as predicated the song crossed the milestone this month!

“Wannabe” reached 800 million streams last week, extending its streaming record as the 2nd most streamed girl group song behind Fifth Harmony’s ‘Work From Home’ at 1.2B. “Wannabe” is expected to reach 1B in early 2024.

“Who Do You Think You Are” also reached 60 million streams this week.

Overall, the group now have five songs over 100 million and rank second to Little Mix who have the most songs over 100m on the platform.

Keep streaming, everyone 😊❤️

Looks good to see their Top 5 songs all above 100m! :cheer:

Gonna be an age before WDYTYA gets to 100m.

Maybe sometime in 2026 :drama:

I think its more impressive for the girls though as they aren't from the era of streaming like Little Mix were.

I really really want them to update This Is Spice Girls on Spotify  I know we discuss this every so often, but it continues to bug me :teresa:

<_< The inclusion of 17 solo songs is 40% of the entire playlist. The clue is in the name... This Is Spice Girls. Given that the solo songs have their own 'Songbook' playlist and have for quite a while now, it's really high time to get rid of them from This Is Spice Girls.

All the solo stuff makes it looks like they're trying to pad out a very limited group discography by only having 25 actual Spice Girls songs in there. When there's actually over 20 other Spice Girls group songs that could be added into the playlist too. I've listed them, hopefully I didn't miss anything out...

Missing Spice Girls songs:

Album Tracks:

Feed Your Love [spice 25]

The Lady Is a Vamp [spiceworld]

Step to Me [spiceworld 25]

Get Down with Me [Forever]

Wasting My Time [Forever]

Weekend Love [Forever]

Time Goes By [Forever]

If You Wanna Have Some Fun [Forever]

Oxygen [Forever]

Voodoo [Greatest Hits]

B Sides or Miscellaneous:

Bumper to Bumper [Wannabe]

Take Me Home [say You'll Be There / Spice 25]

One of These Girls [2 Become 1 / Spice 25]

Sleigh Ride [2 Become 1 / Jack Frost OST]

Baby Come Round [Mama/Who Do You Think You Are]

Spice Invaders [spice Up Your Life]

Outer Space Girls [Too Much/Spiceworld 25]

Walk of Life [Too Much/Spiceworld 25]

Ain't No Stopping Us Now (Live) [stop]

(How Does It Feel to Be) On Top of the World [England United]

Christmas Wrapping [Goodbye]

We Are Family (Live) [Goodbye]

Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves (Live) [Goodbye]

My Strongest Suit [AIDA]

Radio Edits/Single Versions

2 Become 1

Mama

Who Do You Think You Are

Too Much

Viva Forever

Goodbye

Holler

Let Love Lead the Way

+ all other Remixes/Demos/Live versions.

Evidently there's a sizeable amount of their catalogue which isn't being exposed via their most prominent playlist. I can't understand the rationale of it. Why are they neglecting so much of Forever? Midnight Fantasy... what was the reason!

I'm pleased that their team tidied up YouTube yesterday... now it's time to get to work on Spotify. :arrr:

What I don't understand is that most other 'This Is' playlists are updated on a daily basis, so why hasn't Spice Girls been touched for 16 months? It's not just current artists that get these regular updates, but old and inactive ones too. For example 'This Is Girls Aloud' was refreshed 7 hours ago. It includes 51 songs in there and all of them are group songs... it never includes any Cheryl songs. 50 songs on This Is Westlife, all group songs, updated 7 hours ago.

If This Is Spice Girls was updated regularly then the order of the songs could be shuffled depending on the time of year. At Christmas time it should give prominance to the Christmas #1 singles and their two festive B Sides. Right now the England United song should be in there. Step to Me should have been immediately added right towards the top to give it more exposure. Bump Mama up when it's Mother's Day.

Ok, rant over... for now! :cheer: :teresa:

SOME OF THEIR BEST SONGS ARE BEING LEFTOUT :cheeseblock:

A tragedy. It's really badly curated indeed, and the overkill of solo spice just doesn't quite fit.

IF they were to throw away the solos but keep one per girl AT BEST, I'd say:

1. Geri - It's Raining Men

2. Mel C - Never Be The Same Again or Who I Am

3. Emma - Maybe

4. Mel B - I Want You Back

5. Victoria - Not Such An Innocent Girl

I think those represent the solos better and they would be more than enough, and towards the end of the playlist!

I'd say all the songs mentioned by Jay should definitely be in there but specially these

Album Tracks:

Step to Me [spiceworld 25]

Get Down with Me [Forever]

Wasting My Time [Forever]

Weekend Love [Forever]

Time Goes By [Forever]

If You Wanna Have Some Fun [Forever]

Oxygen [Forever]

B Sides or Miscellaneous:

Bumper to Bumper [Wannabe]

Take Me Home [say You'll Be There / Spice 25]

One of These Girls [2 Become 1 / Spice 25]

Sleigh Ride [2 Become 1 / Jack Frost OST]

Spice Invaders [spice Up Your Life]

Outer Space Girls [Too Much/Spiceworld 25]

Walk of Life [Too Much/Spiceworld 25]

Ain't No Stopping Us Now (Live) [stop]

(How Does It Feel to Be) On Top of the World [England United]

Christmas Wrapping [Goodbye]

We Are Family (Live) [Goodbye]

Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves (Live) [Goodbye]

My Strongest Suit [AIDA]

That in itself would be an amazing playlist, pretty epic!! Plus maybe these for live fun times:

Love Thing (Live at Istanbul)

Move Over (Live at Istanbul)

Mama (Live at Istanbul)

Say You'll Be There (Live at Istanbul)

That could be a nice playlist! Oh GOD please someone do one :w00t:

This way, they could simply rename that awful SongBook as Extra Spice or even Solo Spice (just be honest you want to use the group's profile to boost your solos. we know the deal lol)

100% agree with Jay's post. Jay maybe you could copy and paste your post on to Spice Circle? The Universal team reads it often so best chance of bringing it to their attention. If you link the post on here we can all post on it saying we totally agree.
^ I strongly disagree. If the This Is playlist drops the solo songs then the number of monthly listeners of the girls will suffer badly. Moreover, I think it's better to have on this playlist known & successful solo hit singles rather than random album tracks, demos & B sides.

Yeah they definitely need more of the groups tracks on that playlist !

Midnight Fantasy definitely should've been a single but wasnt so it is strange how its sits on that playlist.

But they already have other playlists with solo work, and the This Is Spice Girls is for the group only  I'd rather it being filled with actual group music - you know, because it is a group playlist and they definitely need to highlight their own music rather than constantly pushing the solo crap on our faces!!! <_<

EDIT: Just realised that it doesnt even include LET LOVE LEAD THE WAY!!! One of their singles

Maybe we could also send an email to their team at Universal?

I could post it on Spice Circle but I wonder if anyone would really pay attention? 🤭 I’m not sure how to get the message across in a more succinct way! I’ll think about it.

I feel like… if these solo songs are only doing particularly well because they’ve been included on this playlist, then that’s a bad sign. They should be able to stand on their own, particularly the bigger hits there. Maybe forgotten songs (to the wider public) like Tell Me and Not Such an Innocent Girl benefit a bit, but I just don’t think this is what the This Is Spice Girls playlist should be about.

I’m quite confident that if you think of any other group and check their This Is playlist, you won’t find any solo material on them. It arguably comes across as a bit lame that some solo Spice Girls songs might need to ride on the coattails of a group playlist in order to get attention, while as I said, it also gives the perception that the Spice Girls hardly have any songs of their own.

Surely most people accessing This Is Spice Girls are specifically looking to hear Spice Girls songs, but then they discover a significant amount of it is solo songs. I can imagine many of them would choose to skip over them because it’s not what they were seeking out. It might even be counter effective having them there, in the sense that they could be annoying to casuals. Effectively the playlist is really “This Is Spice Girls, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Melanie C & Victoria Beckham”, but a playlist named after one artist really should just be that artist.

I’m sure it would be more beneficial for their group albums if the focus is actually on group songs. More Forever songs on there would boost that album’s weekly streaming sales even if it’s just by a little bit, it adds up over time. At least having the B Sides that were added onto Spice and Spiceworld would somewhat benefit those albums too.

Agree with all of this Jay. A this is Spice Girls playlist should be solely Spice Girls tracks for all those reasons.

Please post this reasoning on Spice Circle tonight Jay. I have your back.

What is different about Spotify and where the girls are featured on specific playlists is some playlist say ‘spice girls’ as the author/profile and others say ‘Spotify’ - ‘this is spice girls’ is a Spotify playlist so does that mean it’a automated by Spotify and tracks are selected due to the amount of streams they have and if so is it due to the most streamed songs overall or their daily average streams?

I guess it's meant to be curated by Spotify, although I'd be surprised if it had no involvement from the label in terms of what songs feature overall. I don't understand why it's not been touched for so long when most of them are updated daily
