It defo isn't done on 'most streamed' as Lady is a vamp isn't on it and A mind of its own is. 'Lady' has over 2m more streams than A mind of its own, so there is no way it out streams it.

What I don't understand is that most other 'This Is' playlists are updated on a daily basis. For example 'This Is Girls Aloud' was refreshed 7 hours ago.

Are you sure those playlists are actually updated daily? I know the date says so, but maybe it's just an automatic thing? Have you spotted any real changes?

Tragically knowing the girls they probably insisted on solo songs being on it and having control of it and have forgot it even exists or whoever was in charge of it at the time has. Where as most other acts probably leave it to Spotify who update automated regularly and labels only have any involvement when they want something specific on it.

Well clearly their team has not done anything to update it. They could have requested for Step To Me to be added to it on release, at the very least... It's quite tragic because it does seem deliberate. Like, they DID update the Best Off playlist with Step To Me, so why not ask for it to be included in the other one too?...

 

It sounds so silly that we are arguing about a damn Spotify playlist, but it just goes to show the lack of disinterest in their catalogue, yet again.

I know I say this a lot but really we should e-mail someone on their team at Universal. Come on...

 

I was trying to find on UMG website where they are included, and it is so wide reaching wow what a monopoly on the music business they have! The only semi-division of the big UMG group that I can find that includes anything related to them is on the https://www.universalmusicrecordings.com/ which is the division that looks after back catalogues (and the only reason I found it is cos they have the Spiceworld25 promo on their instagram lol).

I browsed my external hard drive to see if I had any old files with Spotify information, just for the sake of interest, and I found something! Their play counts on 25th June 2015. I think this might have been the very first time I decided to take note of their play counts and share them on DenDen. Kind of interesting that Spice Up Your Life was second by quite a significant margin back then (for instance 2 Become 1 had only managed 79% of the streams Spice Up Your Life had achieved) but now Spice Up Your Life is quite far behind Stop, 2 Become 1 and Say You'll Be There, with no sign of it being able to catch them up.

Clearly due to the Christmas Wrapping success on Spotify, the girls are now over 9million listeners again after falling down to 8.7million over the summer B-)

 

It didnt get many 'extra' listeners during the Spiceworld25 era cos most of it wasnt playlisted at all. I think only Step To Me got an official playlist, the All Out 90s one which they were already prominent on with Wannabe, Who DO You Think YOu Are and others on there anyway.

 

They are now at 9,242,631 which is quite a big jump! :wub:
