Well if Blank Space is already out, I don't know what to predict anymore. Just hoping Wildest Dreams is still a contender to win!

Yep Blank Space 'only' being 9th and I Knew You Were Trouble missing the top 10 both absolutely SHOCKED me when counting up results :o The way they always smash the singles rates, especially the former, but kinda underperformed here oops.

Red really underperformed on the whole tho?!?! No songs top 10, IKYWT underperforming, All Too Well missing the top 20, so many tracks from the album leaving early. I am v. surprised.

I adore Blank Space tho I don't think its in my top 20 Taylor songs, a classic tho and that video *.* So glad exile made the top 10, such a timeless track already despite it being so new

I think I’d this rate happened now, Some songs from Red would have been much higher after the re-recording. I defo would’ve scored some songs more favourably.

8. cardigan [Avg. 9.66]

Out here is the first single from folklore. cardigan is described as a "slow-burning, folk, soft rock, and indie rock ballad, with a stripped-down arrangement of a tender piano, clopping drums and melancholic violins." The song's lyrics discuss a comforting romance lost in memories from the perspective of a female narrator named Betty, one of the several fictitious characters narrated in folklore. It received one 11 (Ultra), a whopping ten 10s (Blacksquare, Dexton, Jade, Jay, John-James, Klumzee, London, MrAndrewMan, Nina West, me), some 9.5s and 9s, and an 8.5 (JosephStyles).
Was hoping cardigan would be even a little higher tbh. WHAT a song
Really consistent scoring. An ultra giving the only 11. It’s such a beautiful song and very worthy of the top 10.

Love Story [Avg. 9.66]

At #7 we have one of her biggest hits in the U.K., it was her first single, peaking at #2 in 2009. She didn’t score another top 5 song until 3 years later with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. I liked Love Story and remember listening to it a lot at the time - it was in my Now 72 C.D.!! But I wasn’t a Taylor fan and really didn’t clock her again until her next top 10 hit mentioned above; the Red era was really the beginning for me. ‘Like most of Swift's songs, this was based on a real experience. As a teenager, she had an argument with her parents over a boy - they thought he was a creep, and Taylor thought it was love. She told 60 Minutes that he was, indeed, a creep, but she thought he was amazing at the time. The pre-chorus of the song came into her head: "You were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles, and my daddy said, 'Stay away from Juliet.'" She grabbed her guitar and worked out the chords on her bedroom floor. Taylor added that the song was met with indifference from her record company and her parents, but she fought for it, which she says was a fun experience because she had something to prove.’ The song was given 3 number 11s from Dexton, Ho Lee Smokes and Nina West and 7 10s from Ultra, Tafty, Mr Andrew Man, me, Joseph Styles, John-James, DionTheSats123. There was only one low score of an 8!
I'm truly appalled by 'Blank Space' only being 9th. WTAF?!

This is the reaction I wanted! :P

Love Story is a great song but not Top 10 taylor for me. I'm shocked it finished above cardigan & Blank Space!

6. You Belong With Me [Avg. 9.75]

A great third single from Fearless drops out here. You Belong with Me was inspired by an argument between a male friend of Taylor's and his girlfriend over the phone. A country pop song with elements of pop crossover, it is about an insecure protagonist's unrequited love for an out-of-reach love interest. It received three 11s (Among Haus, Dexton, DionTheSats123), nine 10s (Ho-Lee Smokes, Jade, John-James, London, MrAndrewMan, Nina West, me, Tafty, Ultra), some 9.5s, 9s, and two 8s (Cremey, Qween).
