Here’s the top 5 in alphabetical order:

Cruel Summer - 1 of 2 album tracks in the top 5. Being one of the most popular songs from the album Lover, I’m not surprised this has ended up in the top 5. It’s a crime it wasn’t released as a single.

 

Delicate - the 5th single to be released from Reputation. It may not have reached the heights of Look What You Made Me Do but it’s popularity is shown here and it truly is a standout from the album.

 

Enchanted - the second album track giving Speak Now its moment. I can’t understand why this was never pushed as a single - it’s the most beautiful song - and out of all the re recordings this is the one I am most excited about.

 

Wildest Dreams - the 5th song released from 1989 and has cemented its self over time as a big fan favourite. And the re recording hasn’t disappointed.

 

Willow - and the most recent song, the lead single from Evermore. After Folklore, I didn’t think Taylor could do any better but this song is truly a masterpiece.

 

Five songs from five different albums and all worthy of taking the top spot.

Just did it, I really enjoyed Enchanted and Cruel Summer was nice as was Willow. I’ve always liked Wildest Dream and never been a big fan of Delicate.

5. Enchanted [Avg. 9.81]

Here is a song from Speak Now that was cheated out of being a single and I am still confused about that. It's one of my favorite Taylor songs. Enchanted is about infatuation with someone after meeting them for the first time, and worrying about whether the initial feeling will be reciprocated. It is a power ballad with acoustic guitar crescendos after each refrain, leading to a harmony-layered coda. It went viral on TikTok recently. It received a great eight 11s (DionTheSats123, jtkoon, John-James, JosephStyles, London, MrAndrewMan, me, Ultra), two 9.5s (Among Haus, Riser), quite a few 9s, and the lowest score is a 7 (Dexton). It didn't receive any 10s, to my surprise.

Thanks London, it has got me wanting to listen to Speak Now in full now.

I quite enjoyed Enchanted so whilst I, happy it made top 5 I’d have liked it a little higher then some of the other songs left in.

OMG that video gave me spine tingles - wow - she looked so young and the theatrics of it were so true to the song. Plus she sounds amazing. Love it!

 

Enchanted on any given day could be my #1 song.

Delicate[Avg. 9.85]



At #4 we have Delicate. When Reputation was released, I couldn’t get enough of this song. Once again Max Martin striking gold. Its chart history really doesn’t do it justice (#45 peak in the U.K. and #12 in the US) although it was a slow burner and has scored certifications over time. I can’t say I’ve ever fully understood the video but I love it all the same - Taylor at her goofiest i’d say. In the song, Taylor worries that her blemished past will affect her new relationship but comes to the conclusion that this new love interest must truly like her if he’s still deciding to date her despite her past. All I know is that when I first listened to Reputation all the way though, I got stuck on this song - addicted - and played it repeatedly. It was given six 11s from me, Among Haus, Cremey, Dexton, John-James and Riser and also eight 10s, five 9/9.5s, one 8.5 and one 7. Pretty consistent scoring.

Happy Delicate didn’t win, I’ve never really liked it, plus with what’s let I’d rather have seen a different song win.
