    MOTHER! (Still no idea what the hell Is "a Sports Emmy" but I'll take that)

So it has placement during the actual film not just the credits, what??

Also: Trailers for #TopGunMaverick featuring Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” have been sent to cinemas around the world.

It's coming :w00t:

.@ladygaga’s involvement in #TopGunMaverick is being acclaimed by most publications. We also can confirm “Hold My Hand” is used throughout the movie through the score and build up before being fully played towards the end credits.

Ahh so it's teased during the movie and then played fully in the credits!

It’s funny how songs can sound so different to people because (seeing as it’s been brought up) I genuinely find Angel Baby to be highly effective in its references, I think it totally nails that emotive tone & power ballad sound of the 80s. It’s so romantic. Southern Eastern Asia understand!!

I’m honestly sad about this but I’ve come to the conclusion that Hold My Hand is pretty much a boot for me. :( When I hear the intro begin, I just keep hitting skip every time. It’s certainly a first for me to not want to play a new Lady Gaga single. I would say I hope it does well… because I always like to see her do very well, but on the other hand, I don’t want her to get the message that this is what the public wants from her. I feel like the jury’s out on whether the fans are really here for this or if it being the shiny new soundtrack single is contributing to the current excitement over it. All I can say is that I don’t want this song to influence her future music direction in any way. She usually nails a ballad, but this is… below par (for me). I’ll try and accept that a Lady Gaga single just isn’t for me on this occasion :cry:

Two problems: 1) the song is stuffed with platitudes. Maybe that makes it universal, but it seems generic to me. I never think of Gaga as being generic. 2) she starts belting way too soon in the song which makes it quite an exhausting listen. It shows its cards early & it makes the song become a slog to get through. There should have been a build up to a climax where the power vocals feel earned, not done throughout seemingly just to show that she can.

I don't see this as an indication of her whole musical career tbh - she has done jazz, americana/country/poprock and movie songs sporadically for almost ten years now. But also Chromatica and stuff in between.

Spotify Playlist Reach:

Hold My Hand — 34M (-13M)

This is honestly embarrassing. Does she even have a manager? Even When I'm Gone had +120M playlist reach on Spotify :tearsmile:

@1525154396572729346

Good start! It's been her most streamed song since Friday.

Song #200 on Spotify Global did 793k, our luck :tearsmile:

Sadly, I don't expect it to re-enter tomorrow because of Kendrick's new album

But 800k with only 34M playlist reach is amazing, the song has potential, it just needs a decent playlist reach to shine!
