These days it is pretty easy to not to stream songs by the worst people, and should not be that hard for radio and streaming services to stop supporting too. There are thousands of artists out there.

As much as I am *no* fan of Dr Luke's, I think this is a pretty short-sighted view sadly. Doja's been signed to his label since before the allegations were made against him. She's hinted before that she doesn't like him so I assume she's stuck in the contract right now. It'd be a shame if someone talented was blacklisted like that because of the producer they've had to work with.

I personally couldn't think of anything worse than hearing The Business and Friday played in a club setting, whilst the locals who have had one too many shout "whoop whoop" over it, no m'aam

 I feel this too. I like 'The Business' as at least its original albeit basic but im too old for those sort of places now thankfully.

Loving The Business, one of the hottest tracks in the chart right now and one of the best songs of the year

Little Bit Of Love isn't a song I would choose to listen to myself but it's decent for what it is!

It is, but I have put the no-Dr Luke tracks on my playlists (it's still his label but at least he does not get the songwriting royalties).

And SZA had no business to feature on that track, what a poor judgement from her and her management.

Who's to say who's bad and who isn't though? Obviously for the worst crimes it is obvious but it's difficult to draw the line.

Also, if some one had allegations and got cancelled and then got found out to be innocent then it would be really bad for that artist.

When Spotify did try censoring artists a few years ago, it backfired badly.

But on an individual level, it is easy to block particular artists on Spotify but I guess harder to block producers if they aren't the credited artist.

Biography

Nathan Evans

Nathan Evans is a Scottish singer known for singing sea shanties. Evans first gained fame in 2020, when he posted videos of himself singing sea shanties on social media service TikTok, triggering a surge of interest in sea shanties. - Wikipedia

220 KID

220 KID is a producer/writer/DJ and artist from the UK. The 220 KID name was born after running 220 miles in bright pink pants for charity, after his beloved Godfather passed away. And after running that 220 miles he knew anything was possible. He was soon scouted as a model and has worked for the likes of Vogue, GQ, Nike, Reebok and many more, whilst continuing to develop and perfect himself as an established writer/producer. Over the past two years 220 KID has been working with Grammy nominated producer Grades, One Bit, Camden Cox, Billen Ted, Danny Shah, Jackson, and the infamous Scott Storch (Pink, Christina Aquilera, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Dre, Sean Paul) to name a few. His broad musical ability has allowed him to write and produce with a wide range of artists also, such as Clean Bandit, Alpines, Frenship, Walking On Cars, Sheppard, and Camelphat, He has most recently been working with Daniel Skye, Jess Boykins III, Amanda CY, Gracey, Maverick Sabre, Bryn Christopher and Ivy Adara. Unquestionably 220 KID has a wide range of production skills, from epic string work to dirty house base lines. Alongside his fresh style of lyrical writing, he has the ability to make any pop song that little bit more ‘cool’. He's certainly one to watch. - Spotify

Billen Ted

Billen Ted are a production / writing duo working out of Ealing Studios, London. The duo, previously from Death Metal bands, have spent the last few years transitioning to dance and pop music and have produced / written records for the likes of 220 Kid (Don't Need Love), Hugel (WTF), MNEK, Sleepwalkrs and Melanie C amongst others. They have just released their first record Satisfied, paying homage to the late Prince by doing a feel good version of 'I Feel For You' - Spotify

What we're not going to do is play this card and shoe Dr Luke as being innocent and "not bad".

That week at #4 this had gets more irritating as time goes on. I'd tolerate the song a lot more if it were on a record-breaking run at a #5 peak!

That is true. However, these people are in so powerful positions that they can do anything and survive. There are different kind of crimes of course, not everyone is R. Kelly, but the show business and music industry have protected plain criminals for decades and will continue to do so, if people don't act in these cases.

It's unfortunate for Doja but for all other artists, there are plenty of great hitmakers out there, one does not have to cooperate with Dr. Luke to get hits in 2021.

Biography

Even in the crowded field of mournful singer-rappers, Polo G stands out. It’s not the depth of his trauma—poverty, hunger, gang violence, drug addiction, and prison, all before his 20th birthday—or even his willingness to share it. It’s his focus. Listen to a Polo record—“Heartless,” “Pop Out,” “Through da Storm,” “Go Stupid”—and you can hear an artist obsessed by craft. The flow is dense but melodic, the lyrics plainspoken but crammed with imagery and detail, more in tune with classic rap virtuosity than the loose impressionism that ruled most of the 2010s. And in a culture of rappers making records back-to-back-to-back to capitalize on interest, Polo has been borderline stingy: no mixtapes, no bloated deluxe editions three months after the initial drop, albums running closer to 40 minutes than 80. He’s said in the past that he doesn’t freestyle, he writes. And when he’s done writing—that’s when he goes to record. And if he doesn’t love what comes out at the session? Like, love-it love? He keeps it to himself.

Born Taurus Bartlett in 1999, Polo was raised in Chicago public housing, coming up through the rough, quick-delivery style of local hip-hop known as drill. Like local heroes G Herbo, Lil Durk, and, to a lesser extent, Chief Keef, Polo’s primary subject was pain: personal, racial, generational. But as compelling and tightly wound as his debut was (2019’s Die a Legend), he knew you could only get so much mileage out of the same story, and took his follow-up—2020’s THE GOAT—as a chance to evolve, exploring more pop- and club-oriented sounds while retaining the intensity that makes his performances shine. - Apple Music
