Chart Analysis

There's been a fair few of my #1s recently that didn't look like they had a chance until the very last minute, and this is another of them! Seize The Day is Phoebe Bridgers' second #1 after If We Make It Through December - maybe one day she'll get there with one of her own songs? Bree Runway rises up to #2 for the first time, with former #1s BUZZCUT and MONTERO dropping a few places. It's an uppercase-title-heavy top ten this week, with two more BROCKHAMPTON tracks earning a big jump to #5 and #7, sandwiching the latest from Regard & Troye Sivan. The last new entry in the top ten is MARINA's Purge The Poison - her fourth to reach this high. Big climbs next week could come from CHVRCHES and Jorja Smith, plus entries from Wolf Alice and Tinashe.

Hey Ansel!

Montero with that very pleasing chart run

You is fantastic so I'm glad to see it enter.

Starstruck could potentially be the song of the summer for me. What a tune!

Oops. Big fall for Deja Vu. Slightly disappointed tbh

If It Ain't Me has had such a smashing chart run here. I honestly think this would have made more sense as a single over We're Good but they're both good!

Finally some new Chvrches music. This makes me so happy!

Great chart!

Gave Sieze The Day a listen earlier, sounded okay - I assume McCartney provides the backing music? The Regard song sounded decent on first listen as well so good to see that enter high up!

I'm gonna actually start replying to comments again so here I go:

Hi James!

Oh I hadn't noticed but that is one good-looking chart run for Montero! I'll see if I can get it to hit every position on the way down

Starstruck and You are both brilliant, definitely hope they can be big summer smashes (though I guess You sounds a bit more end-of summer to me).

I did forget about Deja Vu a bit this week but I think it has a chance of jumping back up! And yep, We're Good was really the first misfire for what's been such a smash of an era :(

CHVRCHES should see a pretty big climb next week :)

Hi Pete!

Tbh not sure what Paul does on it, I mainly listened for Phoebe but you're probably right about it being the backing music. Glad you liked You as well, hope it can be a hit though I guess it's a bit more subdued than the last two Regard tracks.
