Tragedy really outshined heartbeat in the end.

And so it should have done! It's not their best cover by any means but it's miles better!

06. This Heart Will Love Again.

Heartbeat

This was a staple on the music channels at Christmas time, I remember seeing it each year even years after they split.

The obvious green screen though :kink:

I do like this heart will love again, not single material but a great album track,

That was such a staple of the 90's tbh :kink:

As for this song, This Heart Will Love Again would have been a nice alternative single to Heartbeat.

Tragedy really outshined heartbeat in the end.

Heartbeat is beautiful

But yeah Tragedy is really their signature song now, alongside 5678.

Of the "will love again" songs, I prefer I Will Love Again ;)

This isn't so bad though and for an album track it is pretty good I would say.

07. Experienced (H Solo).

Ew H Solo

Not keen at all on this, wasant when the album was released either but I like it less now although it's only the 2nd worst on the album fior me.

Sorry I’m late x

Steptro - I’d completely forgotten what this was, so it’s interesting to remember that it’s essentially extending Last Thing on My Mind. Not much more to say about it!

Last Thing on My Mind - I still wasn’t fully on board with Steps while this was their current single (I started to get into them more with One for Sorrow). It’s not one of my major favourite singles (been voting for it in the past couple of rounds of the survivor, to no avail x) but I do like it! I just don’t really have the sentimentality for this song compared to most of their other singles. I don’t think I saw the music video for this until I had the Gold VHS in 2001! Cant go wrong with some open shirt Lee moments x

5,6,7,8 - I assume I would have heard this played during the Radio 1 chart shows because funnily enough it was late 1997 when I started listening to it every Sunday night religiously, but I don’t fully remember how I felt about it at the time... I was 9 years old... I assume I didn’t think much of it because I didn’t buy the CD single. In the years afterwards I definitely found it irritating and considered it as my least favourite single. I softened towards it thanks to the Party on the Dancefloor tour, it was such a fun moment in the show! It’s still towards the very bottom of my singles ranking, but I somewhat like it. I’m not sure whether I’m all that happy that it’s considered as THE Steps song for the general public though...

One for Sorrow - This is when I started being a proper fan  Such a classic song, one of their best!

Heartbeat - Takes me straight back to Christmas 1998! Happy childhood memories! I’m pretty certain I got the Step One CD on Christmas Day. With the passing of time I don’t think it’s one of their strongest singles, but I do feel sentimental towards it.

Sorry for my lateness, as I post this I’m currently still listening to Heartbeat!

What's your least favourite?

Experienced is very different for a Steps song with the gospel and R&B elements. I do like it though.

08. Too Weak To Resist (H Solo).

I could do without these H solos eek. They really aren't good. Not s gr at way to showcase his vocal talent :kink:
Although, this is quite a bit better than his last Solo. I don't hate it 😅

09. Better Best Forgotten.

Better Best Forgotten is one of Steps very best songs
