Now on Run For Cover (the last track on the regular edition) - onto the b-sides, demos and remixes :drama:

Prepare yourself for an out of body experience.

Oooh, I'm loving This Is What You Need. It's interesting how these type of "party" tracks were left off, but I guess it makes sense since it didn't fit the overall theme.

OMG, Girls Nite Out might be my fave thing so far. The 90s cell phone sounds! The conversations! I'll definitively be obsessively listening to this on headphones I feel to try and make out what they're saying

Uh, did we know that the CD1 of the Amazon edition doesn't include Always Be the One? It only has 19 tracks... <_<

ETA: meltdown averted - it's on CD2 as the first track.

And it's cheesy 90s R&B lol. I kind of like it, but it's pure cheese.

Interesting with the 2001 version of Just Let It Go - I still don't hear a potential single, but it's nice to hear it "beefed" up. Really odd that they were apparently seriously considering this enough to do an alternative mix of it when there are more obvious choices (Real Thing, Promises, One Foot In...).

The Alternative Mix of Look At Me is so different :o

They seem to have done quite a few different mixes, really tried out just about everything for a single release. I guess such is the quality of the album and that there’s no real things beyond Overload and RFC that scream louder than any of the others “release me” if you know what I mean

I think it's interesting to listen to the alternative remixes of Look At Me, Real Thing and Soul Sound so far - clearly they stripped a lot of these back to create a more laidback sound and toned down the synths. I think I'll eventually create a tracklist of Look At Me / Real Thing / Soul Sound / One Touch / One Foot In because clearly they went A LOT harder with the synths initially which could've led to a very different album. Soul Sound is jarring at first listen! So different and not laid back.

Honestly, I'm kind of lol-ing at how diabolical the alternative mix of Soul Sound is - I honestly what was the time line for the alt versions were? Because I could easily see them coming about from someone at the record label telling them to "pop it up" (which might explain why One Touch ended up being released several months after Overload, but also before New Year - was there a tug of war going on?). I'd really love to find out more about them.

I think some were commissioned for various plans the label had and abandoned. The liner notes at the back actually give some detail on how they came about (not for the CD3 tracks sadly) and one of them, One Touch I think, was created to try and launch them in the States before the label sacked off all the plans.

The Soul Sound one is utterly wild. The Medway City Heights mix in CD3 is so so so much better.

The One Foot In alternative mix is pretty good too

I was NOT ready for how much the OG Little Lady Love SLAPS and SLAPS so hard :cheeseblock:

Oops, I just asked Siobhan that on her Q&A - hopefully she won't slap me down for not reading the booklet yet :kink: Though the Amazon booklet is seemingly more condensed than the one from the store it seems?

Oh wow at All Around the World. Definitively something that most people wouldn't expect from 1.0 - I can see why 2.0 was considering utilising this; it's great. I'll admit that the title at first made me cringe because it reminded me of one of my most hated Sugababes lyrics ("I been around the world / Just trying to be your girl"). It very much feels like the road not taken.
It's interesting that All Around the World has an obvious disco vibe and then you have the alt mix of Sugababes on the Run that's also gives it a more disco vibe!
All this buzz over this song is really upsetting me now  gonna ask Siobhan wtf at Amazon exclusive.

Right!? Dumbfounding that this was left off the album. I've read that a re-release was on the cards before Siobhan's departure, so perhaps they were keeping some material aside for that? But then again, it (About 2 Remix) was used as a b-side as early as single #2, so who knows! Maybe it was always destined to be a b-side. Would love to hear more of London's thinking/plans that never were.

Do it! :w00t:

I often wondered why the remix to Little Lady Love was released as a B-Side instead of the original, I'm guessing it was probably an error? I also wonder if the song was supposed to be on the final tracklist like Sometimes but was removed last minute.

I'd also love to know the backstory of Little Lady Love. It's an interesting one.
