Received the Extended CD and signed poster today!

A big HMV price sticker stuck directly onto the card sleeve, and leaving a sticky residue behind when I peeled it off  not the one!

From Music Week yesterday

In the albums chart Midweeks, Dua Lipa’s recent No.1 album Radical Optimism is pushing for a return to the summit, moving 27-2 with consumption up 309.1% week-on-week. An Extended Editions version of the album was released on the day of the performance, which has helped deliver that increase with sales so far this week of 5,066 (3,086 physical copies, 370 downloads and 1,610 from streams).

In the singles chart, the albums three big tracks are also making an impact: Illusion, (36-17, consumption up 27.3%), Houdini (a re-entry at No.76, consumption up 60%) and Training Season (a re-entry at No.80, consumption up 32.7%).

While that new edition of Radical Optimism has helped the resurgence of Dua Lipa’s latest release, the Glastonbury effect is evident across her catalogue in the Midweeks. The 2020 album Future Nostalgia moves 100-9 with consumption up 259.1% (2,173 sales), while her self-titled debut LP climbs 69-13 with consumption growth of 149.4% (1,901 sales).

I have ordered the vinyl bundle and the signed print today.

The album has finally hit me , i needed to guve it more time.

Whatcha Doin is my fav at the moment.

End of An Era gives me Kylie vibes.

Hope i get GC for Wembley as nothing else will do.

Omg the extended version of EVERYTHING so far is so much better than the standard versions. :o !!!! These Walls especially has shocked me. That intro. *.*
Realised during the Glastonbury performance that These Walls reminds me a bit of The Colour Of Blue by S Club 7!
It is firmly my favourite now outside of the 3 singles, and in fact I prefer it to ‘Training Season’ also!

Monday midweeks:

8 Radical Optimism (-5)

34 Illusion (-9)

42 Houdini (-6)

88 Training Season (-5)

Hoping Training Season hangs in there somehow

I need Dua and her team to do something because this era is so quiet right now. I'm aware that they're planning to do the long term thing, like they did with Future Nostalgia, which is understandable. However, the difference between both of them are that we got a lot of content, even during the pandemic, in the former while we're not getting too much in this one.

Aside of the extended version of the album and her Glastonbury headlining performance, which received critical acclaim and good press as well, her team wasted that opportunity to re-launch the era and they opted to milk / continue supporting "Illusion" even more when it was better to begin promoting a new single instead. I get that, four years ago, Dua mentioned that she envisioned "Hallucinate" as the go-track / key track to perform during the festival (which ended up being cancelled due to COVID-19), so it makes me think that they wanted to replicate that moment with "Illusion", hence the reason of the 'final push' when it's not having a lot of support in the DSPs, especially in the UK, which is her core market.

As a side note, it's known for a while that she shot a music video in early June when she was in Budapest and the local media revealed that it was for "Falling Forever". However, it's still unknown whether they're going with it or not (or if it was indeed "Falling Forever", but considering that she performed the track for the first time during Glastonbury, it makes sense that this was the song). At this point, I wouldn't mind a split release because I think that "Falling Forever" is too European for the American market, so "These Walls" or, even, a re-release of "Training Season" might work better there. In case it's the latter, they could push "These Walls" globally in the fall and, then, re-release Radical Optimism early next year. Personally, this will be my favourite scenario, although if it's taken into consideration that there isn't too much promotion, the best option is to go with another single and, then, re-release Radical Optimism in Q4.
