The songs so far have been disappointing, but I’m looking forward to the new song with Sheridan Smith. Fingers crossed that it’s the single he needs to sell the album

It’s definitely the best song I’ve heard so far, but it’s only 2.30 mins (ish) and has a strange middle eight section. Almost like it doesn’t belong in the same song. Not sure the sentiment of the song really fits into the theme either.

He’s performing it on the Xmas day strictly special. Hope he gets more opportunities to promote the album this week. Not sure many people realise it’s coming out at all. Hope it doesn’t end up missing the top 10

The music video definitely helps it. Catchy song and great chemistry between them

Christmas albums are always hard to predict, i think he has enough of a fan base to get him a top 10 but then again i cant see myself buying it as i will hold out and buy it when its on sale so maybe other fans will be the same as me.

I love How Christmas is supposed to be. It's so catchy and so much fun. I hope it does well or at least sells the album for Gary.

I think you, guys, are overanalysing things. It's just a Christmas album, it's not supposed to be revolutionary or anything. I think everyone can enjoy good Christmas songs and Gary's voice :P Put it this way: if he sang the telephone book, we'd still enjoy it to some degree, cause he has an amazing voice. Big band is not my cup of tea either, but I can't say I don't like listening to Gary's version of the songs. And supporting him on projects he loves, but we're not particularly excited with, allows him to put out new music, that we may fall in love with.

I certainly wouldn't want him to be like Adele, who puts out only safe music - the same thing she knows masses will get along with. I'd rather Gary had some hit and misses and continue to challenge himself and try new things, than release 100 of SISYL. SISYL is my favorite album, but it's special because it's been done once. I'm happy if I find on an album 2-3 songs I fall in love with and the rest are just ok.

Ok, how Christmas is supposed to be is a huge grower. I’m really enjoying it.
Just had a flick through the iTunes previews, and I'm sure some of you will be pleased to hear that most of the unreleased tracks aren't swing at all! The ones I'm most looking forward to hearing in full are 'This Christmas', 'Come On Christmas', 'I Believe in Father Christmas' and 'Christmas Sweater'. :D
Does Gary have any promo lined up?

He’s got Jonathan Ross tomorrow night and some radio next week. I suspect the biggest promo opportunity for him is the tour.

Jonathan Ross will be good for album exposure as he needs plenty.

Gary could surprise us and be a surprise performer on Strictly Sunday week.

I did, but it hasn't arrived yet.
Didn’t realise ‘Christmas Sweater’ is the same song as Michael Bublé has just released. I was listening to the album and it came on and wondered why I already knew it.

Out of loyalty I bought the album yesterday and have listened briefly.

I need to listen to it more before I pass comment.
