It would be a #1 hit everywhere. Telephone was only bigger than Alejandro in the US/UK, around the world Alejandro was bigger even suffering from the public fatigue over Gaga's image and the controversies. If Alejandro followed Bad Romance, it would have been another #1 hit.

German acts and rock bands can easily sell 100k pure sales on their debut in Germany, while that doesn't happen in the UK, which was totally dominated by streaming. Pure sales will always pay more than streaming, Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey won't let me lie.

IFPI estimates the size of a market based on total album sales + song sales, which is wrong as an album is worth/costs an average of 10 songs, which is why RIAA (US) stipulated that 1500 streams = 1 album and 150 streams = 1 song. Adding album sales + singles giving the same weight to both is talking nonsense, it's like saying Rihanna is bigger than Whitney just because Rihanna sold more in total because she sold loads of singles.
