I'll Remember is a stunner. Ironically, I always fail to remember it exists though

Nothing Fails is great - a definite highlight from its album. Living for Love hasn't aged too well though but is cute enough. There were other choices to pick for lead single from Rebel Heart that could have made a stronger stamp but she went for the safest choice with this. I can see why, but given nothing was going to light the charts up, she could've been a little riskier.

I’ll Remember is a real hidden gem. Not only is it a lovely song but I think it started the sound she would go on to explore on the Ray of Light album (there was a William Orbit remix commissioned)

I actually hate 'Living For Love', I think I've only played in a handful of times.... just awful, and for me, her worst ever lead single.

Nothing Fails is sublime and I'll Remember is passable. I remember that 'I'll Remember' was a huge hit in the USA, staying at number 2 for 4 weeks, topped the A/C chart, and was one of the USA's 20 biggest selling singles of the year - inexplicably - it's so forgettable for me....

Never really thought about it like that before but I hear it now! An Orbit remix would be divine.

Uncomfortable silence can be so loud

| 47. Lucky Star 7.42

| 48. Medellín (with Maluma) 7.40

| 49. Miles Away 7.38 (more 10s)

Continuing the top 50, we have Miles Away which was the third and final single from Hard Candy. The song is a melancholy electronic ballad about her then-husband Guy Ritchie. An autobiographical song, Madonna tells of her dealings of long-distance relationships. We also lose the lead single of Madonna's latest album. Medellín, named after the city in Columbia (where featured artist Maluma was born) is a Latin pop track with elements of reggaeton and dance-pop. the song features the fiery pair dreaming about a getaway in the title city while dealing with their struggles. The song was performed at the Billboard Music Awards and came with a music video in which Maluma and Madonna cause havoc at a feast. Finally, taking it right back to the debut era, is Lucky Star. It served as the album's fourth single in the UK (but fifth in the US) and compares a male love interest's body with heavenly stars. It became a commercial hit and continued to build her popularity as an artist while the music video for the song furthered her impact as a fashion icon.

Good to see a new track top 50.

Medellin took awhile to hit me but now i love.

Lucky Star is always better live.

Miles Away i am very fond of.

This is an incredible trio of songs for me.

Lucky Star (particularly live/Confessions Tour version) are sublime, Miles Away is a great track on an otherwise patchy era and it always fills me with a sense of sadness and then Medellín has potentially gotten better with time and is a song I return to a lot recently unlike a fair bit of the album. The video is a riot too and Maluma is of course a DELIGHT *.*

I only came around to Miles Away in the last few years, I think in part the comparison to what came after, but I also like how simple it is and yet effective.

Medellin is an odd one, it shouldn’t work and it shouldn’t be something I love, but it’s the sound of old Madonna - unafraid to take a risk, to do something unusual and exciting and it paid off. It doesn’t even matter that she can’t sing anymore.

What an incredible group of songs....I love all 3, Medellin should be much higher; I love it - her strongest lead single since Hung Up - it's brave and I never tire of listening to it.

Music stations always play the same songs

| 44. Hollywood 7.56

| 45. American Life 7.54

| 46. Girl Gone Wild 7.46

Girl Gone Wild is out first here. The single was the second from MDNA and opens with a prayer before erupting into full dancefloor banger. In its black and white music video, Madonna is on fire dancing around and harking back to some of her earlier music videos. The song is about letting go and being unashedly wild while not caring about being good. And then we have a double whammy from the American Life album. The title track and lead single of the era is first to drop. The single is an assult on American culture, featuring cut-throat lyrics about the political and religious structures that existed (still exist) in the US. In the song she questions how shallow the country is under leadership of George Bush. The second single from the same album is out straight after! Hollywood continued the theme of the lead single, dealing with issues of greed and commercialism. The song features in the infamous medly at the MTV VMAs which culiminated in a kiss with Britney Spears!

Hollywood and American Life have beaten some very good songs !!!

I prefer American Life to Hollywood but both are great representations of a bold and risky era! She had points to make and she did it in extreme style.

Girl Gone Wild, I unashamedly love. I heard it on a night out once and it came to life. What a banger :funky:

I am introducing my man to more Madonna , i played ‘Ill Remember’ and he loved it first listen!!
don't think Madonna was particularly inspired during the American Life era

Not a huge fan of Hollywood, definitely prefer American Life.

Girl Gone Wild has really grown on me, I didn’t pay much attention when it was released but it’s actually a pretty fun track. Not up there with her classics by any means but it’s a good track to turn up loud and dance around to

Im a huge fan of GGW , love the video!!
