Looks like Ray could be going home tonight, unless the public vote off one of the best acts by thinking their favourite act is safe.

LOUIS' VERDICT ON FINAL THREE

Daily Mirror.co.uk

TONIGHT is the showdown that will have X Factor fans on the edge of their seats.

The last three contestants - Leona, Ben and Ray - will go head-to-head to in the hope of winning a place in the final.

And the one person who doesn't mind who wins is judge Louis Walsh, whose last act, the Macdonald Brothers, was voted off last week. "I'm neutral now - I can just sit back and relax," he says.

Which means he's in the perfect position to give his impartial view on the final three.

Here's his professional opinion...

LOUIS ON BEN

I LOVE Ben's voice. He's different from anything we see on these shows - the long hair, the image. He's a rocker like a young Rod Stewart or Joe Cocker.

Ben has progressed and taken a few chances. Last week he tried a Queen song a cappella. It was good but would have been better with some music.

He's consistent but a hard card to read.

He's shy but he will get the female vote. He has been in bands so he has the advantage over Leona. I knew he'd be in the final. He will go far in the music business.

LOUIS ON RAY

I WOULD never have thought Ray would be in the final three. Never ever. I thought Ben and Leona had so much more to offer.

But of the three acts left he's the hardest working and the most professional. I've never seen anyone so determined.

He's a great dancer and a good singer. He's got a great personality and a great work ethic.

I think he'll end up a star in the West End.

You never know, he might even make the final two.

LOUIS ON LEONA

LEONA is a great singer and there's an opening for a girl like her in the UK - a big female solo act.

Her voice is amazing. When you think about it, we've had Lulu and Dusty Springfield but not many big female singing stars since.

She's understated and not very confident and that's why people like her. She takes everything on board, she treats it all very seriously.

I think Leona will do well. Her future in this business is very bright.

The only problem with Leona is that if she wins Simon will be so smug.

Personally, in those few paragraphs Louis has shown his complete lack of musical knowledge. His comment "when you think about it, we've had Lulu & Dusty Springfield but not many big female stars since" What about Kate Bush, Alison Moyet, Annie Lennox, Sade, Dido, PJ Harvey, etc? Idiot!

I'm routing for Ben now, he is a local lad from Chartham in Kent not far from me, Leona is juat a Mariah Carey wannabe and warbles like her, and can be irritating on those high notes, Ben is different.

Louis always talks out of his ass, I just like to slap him one, more like a village idiot.

I would much rather see a Rock singer win X-Factor than a Soul/r'n'b lite female diva. The problem I have with Ben is that he is just not that special a performer. While criticising Leona for sounding like Mariah Carey, is a bit like criticising Oasis for sounding like The Beatles, or criticising Radiohead for sounding like Pink Floyd.

To be fair if Ben could sing (with the ability, depth & emotion) and perform Rock Songs up to the level of ANY of the following Reality TV performers (whom I'd much rather listen to than Leona), then I might have a lot higher opinion of him and want him to win:

AYESA - Live & Let Die

SUZIE MCNEIL - Bohemian Rhapsody

JORDIS UNGA - The Man Who Sold The World

MARTY CASEY - Wish You Were Here

JD. FORTUNE - The Letter

LUKAS ROSSI - Bittersweet Symphony

DILANA ROBICHAUX - Lithium

Mind you I think Ben is a lot better than this:

TAYLOR HICKS (American Idol 2006 Winner) - Try A Little Tenderness :manson:

 Ray's performance the smilie says it all, someone please slap that smug face
Not watched it properly since Ashley left and, by the reviews I've been hearing in the press, it's probably for the BEST.

I'm getting very bored of the X factor now :(

don't worry... another week to go... till next September and starts all over again -_-

After one song each:

Eddie Munster - Smile

A good but smarmy performance, but yet again I have the same demented painted on smile on my face after that excellent performance. 7/10

Mariah Cloney - I Have Nothing

Yet again a brilliant performance, even if it is a photo-copy diva (Whitney/Mariah/Celine) performance. But deducted one mark for her Mariah dog whistle at the end.

7/10

Stewart Cocker - Everything I Do

To quote my dad "That was sung better 15 minutes ago, by one of the SCD singers for one of the celebs dancing". He was brilliant last week, but that was not even average. Rosie Ribbons has done sung that song tons better. And I have not mentioned the Westlife choreography.

4/10

Ray's crying is SO a stunt to get in to the final -_- and his performance was $h!t -_-

Oh in the top Reality TV show the judges scores were:

Mark and Karen 36 + 27 = 63 (3 Pts)

Louisa and Vincent 31 + 28 = 59 (1 Pts)

Matt and Lilia 29 + 32 = 61 (2 Pts)

Emma and Darren 35 + 34 = 69 (4 Pts)

So for the 4th time in five weeks Emma Bunton has top scored with the judges, but will the Great British public vote her in last place for the 5th week running..... (because they are a bunch of envious expletives, who don't like winners).
