The Last Centurion falls in 12th place, losing a narrow battle to stay in the game. Rory Williams was introduced as Amy's boyfriend, a nurse in the village of Leadworth who clearly wasn't exciting as the Raggedy Man that Amy tried to seduce (honestly I wish I could erase those last few minutes of Flesh & Stone from my mind). The Doctor staged an intervention and brought Rory along in the TARDIS too, which was all well and good until Rory got killed by Silurian warrior Restac and then wiped from existence by the cracks in time. He resurfaced, as a plastic Roman soldier initially before being restored to human form when the Doctor closed the cracks in time, but that wasn't the last time Rory died. Nevertheless, he sort-of got his happy ending with Amy - separated from the Doctor forever, they ended up in New York in the past.
