Music For A Department Store

The album as a whole is pleasant, but honestly just a notch above background elevator music. A few punches here and there. Some songs were just an absolute word salad.

Looks like I'm not the only one who finds the album as a whole rather disappointing. It gets off to a strong start with Sushi Restaurant but doesn't maintain the same standard. As It Was remains a good song and I also like Satellite and Love Of My Life. The rest, on a first listen, sound rather bland.

Thats a very strong start and doesnt include streams yet.

I'm enjoying this - totally get some of the 'boring' comparisons. Maybe he didn't do as many shrooms this time as this album is a lot more MOR, although I think it's very polished as a piece of music. I think the production is solid throughout, but it is not quite as fun as Fine Line. I think my favourite is 'Keep Driving' it's such a lovely little song - reminds me so much of 'Sandman' by Ed Sheeran. In the Spotify era this lacks total bangers, but I am enjoying it. Listened to it 4-5 times now and it definitely gets better, especially some of those more forgettable tracks in the middle
Still has the whole top 12 on US Spotify today! Just Boyfriends dropping one spot to #14

I'm really enjoying this album! Everything is at least solid for me (if a little forgettable in some cases). Grapefruit is the only clear dud on here for me, I can't remember how it goes at all and I've listened to the album in full a few times now.

MFASR, Late Night Talking, Matilda are favourites so far but "Little Freak" is my absolute highlight. <3

no updates in the uk... but in US:

SO wish I could've been there, I was down the road seeing Kate Nash instead  (who was incredible so no regrets, especially when I'm seeing Harry 3 times next month  )

The album opening sales are highly impressive.

Late Night Talking, As it Was and Matilda are my early picks from the album.
