Posted July 19, 20214 yr 18th July 2021 It Must Be Love on top of the charts for the 2nd time, following on from where Madness went as a reissued hit in the 90's, and now 50 years on Labi Siffre finally gets to top my charts with the fabulous original as it's selling from an advert. I liked this song first time I heard it on the Alan Freeman Show late in 1971, weeks before it became a hit, and my love has grown with the years, just gorgeous. I follow Labi on Twitter, these days mostly part poet part social rights commenter. Roisin Murphy adds to her list of top 10's - her 7th, including Moloko tracks - as Jake Bugg bounces back, into the 20, not Lost at all, as Dua Lipa does the same, both having seemingly peaked a few weeks/months back. Diana Ross gets her first top 20 in 22 years with new material, no, Thank YOU, Diana, as Miley Cyrus goes way higher than Metallica managed shooting up 40 places with Nothing Else Matters. Robert Smith gets his first top 40 since the 90's courtesy CHVRCHES, as new entries include Will Young Crying On The Bathroom Floor - I know I've done that - Yola showing off her Starlight, and Georgie Chasing Kites. Makes a change from chasing cars, pavements and rainbows I guess. Stardust never made my top 20 first time round, so it pops back as consolation 13 years later, and Aqua....are back! Absent since 2000, and 24 years on from Barbie Girl they cover the ultimate gay anthem, I Am What I Am for Copenhagen Pride. I did Copenhagen the other year, I liked it. I'll be honest, I was expecting the worst, I've seen the musical (didn't like it) got sick to death of the Gloria Gaynor hit version (and I ADORE Gloria Gaynor) and groan every time it inevitably comes on anywhere a bit gay. July 20, 20214 yr Hey John! :hi: You is doing really well here. It's been quite the slow climber for me and even stalled this week. I reckon it should climb. Neon lights top 30 :wub: it's so much fun to listen to. Call On Me has climbed a lot this week. I hope that's a sign of things to come. I'm also very happy to see Let Them Know climb. It's very Geri Halliwell 2000-esque. Love it. Got Me will finally be entering in a couple weeks as well. Just took a wee while to grow on me. Not Bad Habits stalling :drama: Nice chart! ^_^
