Analysis

 

Album Chart: 1 New Entry, 8 Non-Movers, 2 Up, 9 Down: The first 4 albums remain static at the foot of the top 20 with only minor movements outside the top 10, Kellie Pickler being the only major casualty down to No.11 this week…Nelly Furtado’s Loose clocks up half a year (26 weeks) inside the top 10 this week while The Corrs slide to No.9 with Dreams followed by Clubland 10 down to No.8…Girls Aloud’s Greatest Hits is a non-mover at No.7 while Ministry of Sound: The Annual 2007 leaps back to No.6 this week!!! Delta’s Japanese album and Now 65 both fall a place within the top 5 with the highest new entry going to Gwen Stefani following up L.A.M.B which finished at No.9 in my best albums of 2005 chart peaking at No.2 in the weekly chart!!! The Sweet Escape debuts at No.3…All Saints stay at No.2 with Studio 1 which means that it is a second week in control for Take That with Beautiful World!!!

 

Singles Chart: 4 New Entries, 2 Non-Movers, 5 Up, 9 Down: Mickey Modelle and Jessy return with a new song this week along with debuts from Gwen Stefani, Eric Prydz and Take That, all below the top 10…Other big changes come from All Saints who slide from 8 to 17 with Scar and Shakira who sees Hips Don’t Lie outside the top 10 for the first time since May…All Saints next single Chick Fit climbs to No.12 this week…All Saints and a non-mover from Nelly Furtado begin the top 10 with Headlock becoming a 4th top 10 hit for All Saints in a matter of weeks…Girls Aloud dip a place with I Think we’re alone now while Take That’s Howard led song Mancunian Way moves up 10 places to No.6!!! Mason drops a place to No.5 with Exceeder while Gwen Stefani’s catchy Wind It Up shoots back to No.4!!! After a total of 7 weeks at No.1 All Saints fall to No.3 this week with Rock Steady while Take That stay at No.2 for a third week with Patience!!! In the ultimate chart domination its Take That who steal the top spot as well this week with Shine, sung by Mark Owen climbing from No.3 to No.1!!!
