June 5, 200619 yr Yeah wasn't it 3 big injuries against Australia? Cocu, Snjeider (sp?) and Van Der Vaart? Yeah and I think Van Bronkhurst or whatever his name goes like is injured as well. I don't know how serious they injuries are but all the players injured are all key players.
June 5, 200619 yr Still they're three key players that they would want to be 100% fit. The injury next to the corner flag (can't remember which one it was) looked pretty serious though

The injury next to the corner flag (can't remember which one it was) looked pretty serious though  I didn't see that one, I think one of them is meant to be serious and I think the other two will probably be knocks but Holland were son unlucky against the Aussies from the highlights I saw, especially the goal that the Aussies scored.
June 6, 200619 yr I voted Brazil. I just can't see past them. Oh and by the way, come Friday I'll be in this Forum all the time. I love my World Cup. I may be a girly but I have my World Cup wall-chart already hanging there. Poised. Can't wait. :yahoo:
June 6, 200619 yr yeah i think the same but..... least we qualified :P I'd rather Scotland not qualify than go through all this ludicrous hype and bullsh!t whereby we're all under some fanciful deluded notion that we're gonna win the thing.... Face facts, the only way England will ever win the world cup again is if Argentina or Brazil fall into the ocean....

Sneijder is the only one that will miss thir first game... They were just minor knocks like Neville, Terry, Cole and Beckham picked up for England...

June 6, 200619 yr Paraguay ?  They have as much chance of qualifying from their group as char1sma has of landing a multi million £ recording contract

Face facts, the only way England will ever win the world cup again is if Argentina or Brazil fall into the ocean.... Actually this is a time where we ARE genuine contenders, hence it being EVEN MORE hyped up. Anyway it's everywhere because it's the most interesting and popular sport and so everyone gets behind England instead of it being "oh lets just be all miserable and pessimistic about it instead".
June 6, 200619 yr Looking at the recent friendly matches in the last two weeks I now think Paraguay will be England's biggest test within the Group. Sweden seem to have gone to pot at the moment.

June 6, 200619 yr Some people are tipping Paraguay to do really well. There previoys record is the past two world cups have being decent as well and I think in 1998 they nearly knocked France out.
June 7, 200619 yr Looking at the recent friendly matches in the last two weeks I now think Paraguay will be England's biggest test within the Group. Sweden seem to have gone to pot at the moment. I said Paraguay will probably qualify when the groups were first drawn. I don't get Sweden's hype at all, they're not that good any more. Their defence is past it and they don't even have a right-back, they had played a midfielder there. Whether they still do that or not, I don't know...
June 7, 200619 yr Sweden are a big tournament team though They do not normally perform so well in friendlies and qualifiers etc but come tournaments they raise their game I would be surprised if they don't qualify for phase 2
June 7, 200619 yr Actually this is a time where we ARE genuine contenders, hence it being EVEN MORE hyped up. Anyway it's everywhere because it's the most interesting and popular sport and so everyone gets behind England instead of it being "oh lets just be all miserable and pessimistic about it instead". It may be the most popular sport, but the most interesting...? Highly debatable, kicking a pig's bladder between two posts doesn't really inspire that much interest in me to be honest, whereas hurtling down a mountain at 80kph the only thing between you and serious injury or oblivion is a couple of bits of carbon fibre on your feet and two polls on the other hand.....  The Olympic Games is something else that's vastly more interesting than footie, and something we're actually more likely to win something in.... I perhaps wouldn't be so against the world cup if it wasn't for all the bloody hype or the seemingly endless stream of sh!tty world cup songs, each one more rubbish than the last. Even the average Eurovision song is nowhere near as irritating as Crazy Frog or Tony fukkin' Christie... Sorry, but I aint gonna be watching any of it, not even to see England take a pasting.... -_-
June 7, 200619 yr aren't you sick and tired of scotland not participating in any major tournaments? Not really, because in the first place, I'm not really that interested in footie (I'd much rather watch a bit of rugby where we actually have a more realistic chance of winning something) or the Olympic Games (ditto) and all that would happen if we did would be to endure even more crappy world cup songs (god forbid we ever have to suffer the fukkin' Proclaimers trying to resurrect their career, or worse yet, some dickhead producer persuading Sean Connery to contribute something 'musical'......)... No, I think I'd rather Scotland never qualify for anything ever again than have to suffer the possiblity of either of those scenearios happening.....
