I’m worried now that this has killed a bit of a momentum, maybe they should have released the single mid October? When the collabs died down?

I really don’t see how the album not being branded as a greatest hits makes any difference. If anything I think it would performed worse as a greatest hits as less people would check it out if it’s all old songs.

The only buzz I've seen is on here? In fact if I wasn't on Buzzjack I genuinely don't know if I'd have seen anything about them releasing a greatest hits (obvz just from my socials etc..) So we'll see. I am still confident that (although I do think it'd have helped) it's being promoted well enough as a greatest hits (especially as someone who has had 2 different customers ask for their greatest hits so far already)

 

I'm remaining hopeful that they've had big pre-orders + as you say, Greatest Hits DO sell (so idk what Frenchie was talking about :heehee:) especially in Q4 for Christmas. I'm still not sure that The Wanted will beat them personally. But we'll see.

They've done just under 5k in pre-orders. Confetti was on double that around this point.

I'm sure it'll have good sales by the time it comes out :) Jade will up the promo around release and potentially Leigh and Perrie too.

 

I'm sure Leigh will promote more in November as her film is out later in the year so she'll want to promote that too.

 

I think we'll get a couple of interviews. Hopefully they add more stock, so strange they haven't been re-stocking the picture discs...if they were limited add the new stuff to replace them.

I'm not 100% sure why it's not doing as good. However I really don't think its because it's not labelled as a greatest hits. If anything I reckon its probably because it is a greatest hits album that its not doing so well.

 

Greatest Hits do really well because of streaming and so they get great longevity, which i'm confident Between Us will have also. But there haven't been any instances of greatest hits albums selling massive numbers in their first week (well I can't think if any). Even The Weeknd's recent Greatest Hits album only did 8,617 in the first week which was a considerable drop from After Hours which debuted with 25,677.

 

I'm sure Between Us will sell loads in the first week but that's helped by the dedicated fan base who will get lots of different formats.

I’m not overly fussed how this does - as it’s not a studio album, a top 10 peak would be great and streaming sales will do the rest.

 

It’s 2021, no one (certainly of the generation that listen to Little Mix) has a CD player anymore, so how are they supposed to pick up casual sales? It’s all going to be fan sales of the CD, Vinyl and Cassette and let’s be honest Love (Sweet Love) doesn’t have the fans running to pre-order the album.

I mean I think this is all a bit of a miss fire.

 

I’d understand a greatest hits more if they were an ‘older band’ aimed at middle aged women but beyond fans will anyone want this when I’m seeing lots saying they already have the hits either on CD’s or streaming?

 

I guess it is more an album for fans and I’m so excited for it, but I sort of understand why it’s not doing as well as Confetti.

 

Let’s not forget the TV show and buzz around that helped too (even if viewing figures were poor)

Plus the lead single is meh which hasn’t added any buzz either.

I'm excited for the album and i'm living for the different album covers and that we're getting 5 new songs - they didn't have to do all of this but they did for us fans :)

 

I'm not the biggest fan of LSL but I still think it's a good song and i'm very excited for the 4 other songs!

Yeah I'm just excited about it all as well, feels very celebratory. I think the best thing to do is enjoy the whole release instead of worrying about the charts because there might not be another release for a while.

Yes it was announced middle of September 2020

But that also meant the time gap between the announcement and the album release was much shorter, so you'd expect more sales.

Confetti felt like it was coming much sooner (I know it was but it came around so fast)

 

This still feels like ages before release so I’m sure in a couple of weeks pre-orders should be healthier (Hope so anyway)

 

They kept restocking the Amazon signed Confetti copies too which helped massively.

Leigh-Anne's picture discs are sold out now too!

 

All of their individual discs are gone, let's see if they re-stock or finally add those vinyls of all three girls with the pink, blue, red vinyls!

Confetti had two new hits on it too - Holiday and BUS, which probably helped a lot.

Desperate for them to beat the record of highest number of top 10s by a GG held by Girls Aloud.
