We also have to remember though that most of these singles aren't primarily theirs. HA had been in the talks since last year. Ann-Marie needed to release Kiss My on the week of her album release. Unless the girls would have decided to only release one single from Between Us before the album, and to have it coincide with the album release. But it's a greatest hits album, and they probably understandably want to give every track there a single treatment. Releasing most of the new singles after the album wouldn't be a good idea either. Only other option would have been to push the album to next year. But it ruins the fun of their anniversary, and their tour would be around the corner.

In my opinion, I see no wrong in what they've done so far. Someone here also recently mentioned they needed to prove a point, which I agree with myself. If this song will do well, it will - perhaps it needs time. If it doesn't, it's not the end of the world. Tell me that mega artiste who hasn't had a flop/close to flop single.

Oversaturation is a thing and has definitely played a part but I also feel like if they had released this the week of the anniversary we wouldn’t be having this discussion because it wouldn’t have performed this poorly to start off without the the huge releases in the past two weeks. Without Drakes album, the song debuts in the Spotify top 50 and probably doesn’t fall as far the second day because of the Top 50 boost.

 

Yes I agree. That's the other option - anniversary week. They were everywhere that week, and they announced they had given birth that weekend. It would have been a massive boost. Although that would have been too close to Kiss My release date. Also, was it known Drake was releasing this week by then?

I like the song but to me I still stand by it not really being lead single material, it would have been a good album track.

 

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions though and i'm glad some people think it is some of their best work :)

 

Hoping this does well though as LM deserve so much success.

It’s sad, its really looking like a bit of a miss but I don’t think it matters they’ve absolutely smashed it this year.

 

Just hope the single into the album is decent.

Hopefully if No is better they move the release forward a bit, instead of it being the week before the album or whatever, cause they need something stronger to bring in some decent pre-orders.

Drake or no drake the fact this isn't top 50 on Apple Music despite being on the front of Hot Songs (which is rare for them) is a big disappointment.

Yeah I don't think this is going to do anything. I know its literally only just been released, but these numbers aren't looking good at all.

 

My mum had her first listen and even she was disappointed and she *adores* the girls :lol: She was genuinely gutted that she didn't like it.
