The ratings for bake off and spice girls doc are both on BroadcastNow but you have to pay a subscription to read their articles. The only reason I knew episode 1 had done 850k when it was aired live was because it was in the header

Nice that Episode 2 got more, and hopefully there's more interest from people checking it out on All 4.

Final episode tonight

About Episode 3

A new century dawns as the Spice Girls go solo, diversifying, raising families, and returning for spectacular reunions. With their fanbase all grown up by now, the episode concludes by exploring the group's lasting legacy.

 finally! For all the talk of 'legacy' in past documentaries, they only ever focused on their own story. hopefully this documentary explores the cultural impact they had too.

And hopefully we can get some nice footage from the Return and 2019 tours (we wont but LET A GIRL DREAM!!!)

Can't wait for the interviews with the true fans!!!!
Watching episode two now, I really wish people gave these journalists shit now see how they like it.
Wish that orange balloon didn’t get his 5 seconds of screen time in this

Any other fan would have been better. Him and his female sidekick are literally the reason spice girls fans have bad names online.

Who is this you’re referring to

This documentary needed to be made and these stories regarding their treatment by the press needed to be raised but does anyone else feel a little deflated. It was quite a powerful documentary series
I loved the documentary, I've had a zillion glossy and fluffy documentaries about and from them. This was more raw and showed the true highs and lows and their impact. Thumbs up.

Absolutely one of the best - it’s just that the rawness in all three episodes packs a punch

The last part of this episode let the documentary down for me - after a brilliant first two (and a half) episodes. They should have just stuck to the objective point of view they had at the beginning of the documentary. It was a bit like writing an objective dissertation of 12,000 words and then shoehorning a person opinion in at the end because it felt like it was necessary. (It wasn’t)

People saw through Matthew Wright et al in the first episode so we didn’t need to dilute the facts and the hard hitting truth with fans at the end saying what the girls had done for them. In that sense, it watered down what was otherwise brutal and honest. Every music act out there has fans who feel their music and message have helped them - the fans are not the unique selling point of the Spice Girls. The brand itself was the USP.

It needed another hour to discuss more about the ventures of Geri, Emma and Melanie C post 2007 because they each did their bit which was glossed over a little bit, but I do understand why they focused on Mel B and Victoria (as mentioned above) because they as women have been treated worst by the media.

All in all, it delivered what was promised but still I feel there is so much more we could have had from the documentary.

I wasn’t keen on episode 3 much either. Jayne was great as ever but other than that it felt like a letdown from the well put together first two eps. I think they’d ran out of steam.
I think they could easily have got 1 more episode out if this if not 2 or ideally an episode for each of them as a solo artist.
I thought the fans at the end was there to show how the message they were putting out there in the mid 90s those people in 2021 still use and be inspired by. That coupled with those massive stadium shows packed with 70k fans showed it wasnt a fad and they have that lasting legacy.
800k watched the doc last night. Wouldn't read too much into it, Channel 4 have had broadcasting issues over the past few days. Bake was down 1 million compared to last week. Hopefully it will have a lot of viewers on catch up.
