September 1, 20213 yr Fair point but I don't think that necessarily means that Drake won't be able to do similar numbers again - I guess if anything it just means that if he does he will just appear to be even more dominant than last time  (also look out for how Ed does later in the year, 'No.6 Collaborations Project' had a similar first week streaming total to 'Scorpion' and I would expect '=' to do even better, of course '÷' currently remains pretty much in a league of its own with its first week figures). Personally I'm expecting '=' to do around 200k - 300k first week with 40k - 50k from streaming, so better in total than the 125k opening week sales of No.6 but with roughly comparable streaming figures to the 50k it managed, but well behind '÷' with its 672k total sales, 79k from streaming
September 3, 20213 yr Author Any differing thoughts on this now the albums are out? (For future reference Maiden currently have 21 votes, Drake has 15)
September 5, 20213 yr Only if Iron Maiden's sales don't significantly drop from last time :P (we can have a reasonably good idea of how Drake's sales might compare to his last album but Iron Maiden's sales are still anyone's guess at this stage). Iron Maiden don't release frequently enough to have a good idea of what to expect from them, their last album did 60k first week but the one before that only did 44k, and those are 2015 and 2010 respectively which are both very different climates both to each other and to right now. AC/DC dropped from 93k first week in 2014 to 62k first week in 2020, very possible Iron Maiden might do similarly?
