In the last year he's also released songs with Rina (Chosen Family) and Surfaces (Learn to Fly)

Has to be a collaborations album then surely?

Sept 17th or Sept 10th release date? The Lil Nas X track appearing on both Montero and this album as the 'main single'?

I don't think any of these collabs are related to each other at all, he's just been a prolific-ish feature artist in the last year. Notably all of the songs mentioned bar 'Cold Heart' are either remixes of existing solo songs (Rina, Years & Years) or were for the album of the other artist (Gorillaz, Surfaces, might as well throw in Lady Gaga while we're naming recent Elton collabs). 'Cold Heart' might be the lead single of some forthcoming Elton album I guess but if so it's yet to be announced.
we might get a PNAU album of remixes similar to Cold Heart maybe?

Glen Campbell would be a challenge given he died 4 years ago, unless Elton recorded something nearly a decade ago while Glen was still able to record during the time he was living with Alzheimers
Apparently he's gonna released a collabs album called The Lockdown Sessions

Ah I have just seen that he has been teasing these collaborations on Twitter/TikTok - I did wonder where the list of other names in the OP came from, Google wasn't bringing anything up so I thought it was just random speculation/rumours :kink: my bad, maybe he is compiling the previously released collabs onto a new album then (or he has made new collabs with Rina/Y&Y/Gorillaz/Surfaces?)

If it is just compiling the existing collabs I am surprised he isn't including 'Sine From Above'!

like if Gaga's label would let EJ use Sine from above in one of his albums

Lil Nas X has dropped the tracklist - it includes One of Me ft Elton John, so I imagine that'll be on this.

The Lockdown Sessions is the title of the album and it will be released on October 22.

The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album. But, as the pandemic went on, one‐off projects kept cropping up and I’ve ended with a selection of really interesting and diverse stuff that was completely different to anything I’m known for, stuff that took me out of my comfort zone into completely new territory. And I realised there was something weirdly familiar about working like this. At the start of my career, in the late 60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.

And to everyone who came together to make this album happen: Watt, Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Eddie Vedder, Glen Campbell, Gorillaz, Jimmie Allen, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Years & Years, PNAU, SG Lewis, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Surfaces, Rina Sawayama, Young Thug and everyone else out there – thank you!

I can’t wait for you all to hear the album when it’s released on 22 October, but for now you can preorder it from today from the link in my bio.

Slightly disappointed by the October 22 release date, would have thought it would have been sooner than that given many of the songs are finished and already released or will be by then.
Only really up against Duran Duran and Bullet for My Valentine!

Until Adele or the Arctic Monkeys announce an album release for then the next few weeks.

What a terrible album cover. :manson:

Must be a Glen Campbell unreleased posthumous recording with additional Elton John, in that case, as Glen was not available during Lockdown. As a huge fan I'm intrigued, but I thought his family had already released Glen's last word and heartbreaking final recording, about slowly fading away from Alzheimers and a love letter to his family, I'm Not Gonna Miss You.

you need a reality check if you're complaining about an album being released next month when most pre-orders are up months and months before the album, normally 3-6 months

I really feel like this is a cash.in melting pot of all the collars he's been involved but it's like zero cohesive and Im even amazed artists are letting EJ use it for his album, especially the ones in which he's just a feature
