Personally, I think the lame dance tracks are way worse but it's all opinions.

At least most of the important rap artists have a vision and they are creating something new.

I don't mind rap and dance in the charts but it would be really nice to have some guitar bands charting again - although I can't honestly see it happening anytime soon (apart from the odd song here and there like Maneskin).

yes, definitely indie is missing from the singles charts

sad that indie artists can only chart if they become a tiktok

100% agreed - the only truly great dance record this year (well of the house/trance variety) has been 'Marea (We've Lost Dancing)'.

Different horses for different courses, to me that's one of the worst.

but bare in mind Drake's streams are getting lower and lower every day

next week he's against Manic Street Preachers, who have a very loyal fanbase that buys physicals

their last album opened with 24K, which I doubt Drake can match next week

And Steps! Could see them managing 20k too.

We've had Last Christmas and Driver's License fall out of the Top 10 from No.1. Will Bad Habits do the same?

I can't see it, it's still selling comfortably more than double the songs at the bottom of the top 10. Maybe more like 7/8?

I mean real indie, not Billie-indie ;)

What was the last "real indie" song to make the top 10 as a matter of interest then? Think that's not going to happen in streaming era..

If we decide that anything Billie Eilish isn't indie, Måneskin definitely isn't as they won Eurovision and have streamed gigantic amounts... What would be indie?

I think some people are confusing the indie genre, with indie meaning unsigned here.

Indie I mean Vaccines, Biffy Clyro, Chvrches, Radiohead, Stereophonics, Travis, Bjork, PJ Harvey,...

all these indie bands used to crack the top 40 ca. 10-15 years ago but cannot anymore

Billie Eilish is difficult to define, might be a bit alternative but I wouldn't call her indie... same as Lana del Rey

I would definitely call Billie Eilish more adventurous and alternative than pretty much anything Stereophonics came out with but prob going off topic. Guitar music is making a comeback so who knows what comes in future charts!

Bad Habits will easily be Top 10 on ACR, maybe even Top 5.

The fact Sam Fender has been between 44-75 for the past 8 weeks shows indie has a chance if the artist is supported and is popular enough.

Think the point is it’s not generic and sounds different to the Joel Corrys of this world.

Abba - OCC:

7. Don’t Shut Me Down

8. I Still Have Faith In You

5. Gold

How long before another go round at the ABBA Teens is cooked up?
