I remember hearing a clip of Love Machine on a music channel teasing what's "up next"... it was the slow "come take my hand..." section, so I was BAFFLED when I finally heard the full thing!! :lol: I loved it though, I remember being SO excited all through school to go and pick up my copy!

 

I'll Stand By You is a beauty and so poignant right now :( :(

Love Machine is great and still a bop after all these years!

Wake Me Up has definitely become rather underrated! This felt quite edgy to me at the time! Sarah shines on it too. :heart: Some really memorable lyrics. And the Top of the Pops performance with the bikes was sensational!!

Ah yes, the summer anthem we all didn’t know we needed that year! Cruelly denied a deserved place on Now 62 in 2005. :(

This song was very maligned for being their worst-performer at the time, missing the top 5, but I'm glad it seems to have found some appreciation over the past few years - it definitely has amongst me, at least! It's gone from being lower tier to a HUGE grower. A fine wine :wub: (also SO appropriate for today's weather! :lol:)

Ahh I was devastated when Long Hot Summer missed the Top 5 :drama: :lol: And the frustrating thing was it sold more to be #7 in that week than a single had sold to be #3 just a couple of weeks earlier.

 

I think this song gets way too much of a hard time! I love it!
