How many points did she get from televote?

Edit: she got 70.

Tone was only 3 points off the top 3 in televote. She really did brilliantly

How many points did she get from televote?

70. BAGGE topped with 90.

Kinda sus that the commentators are leaving out The Mamas but I guess that’s because they never really got a chance to perform on the Eurovision stage before COVID’s misogynoir ass showed up

I don’t usually endorse the public’s favourite not going to Eurovision but in this case Sweden I’m sure were voting for the artist in Anders more than the song.

Hold Me Closer is absolutely the right choice, probably Sweden’s best entry since Euphoria. It’s been SO long since I’ve been able to really stan a Swedish entry but safe to say this is going straight to the top of my rankings as my favourite Eurovision entry since Zero Gravity. Absolutely wonderful <3

Lovely to see Tone do so well on the televote there! And Medina top three overall is great for them.

THANK f*** FOR THE JURIES

The Czech jury almost gave me a heart attack but thank god sense prevailed in the others. Anders is a choice Sweden would have lived to regret at Eurovision!

When was the last time someone came from absolutely nowhere to win Melfest?? When the artists

Were announced I doubt anyone thought she would win

Honestly I’m just glad something other than Anders won bc I’m completely convinced that as soon as Run To The Hills started flopping everyone lost their braincells :drama: Hold Me Closer is a decent ballad, I feel like I’m gonna get burnt out on it come Eurovision time but glad that something that kept my retention ended up winning
The Medina crowd left before she even finished singing

I’m elated!

But, did Netherlands Jury do a Belarus 2019?

Czechia really gave Cornelia 0 and Theoz 12 huh..

Thank GOODNESS common sense and TASTE prevailed in Sverige tonight, their best entry since Loreen quite easily.

Melodifestivalen 2022:

Overall, this was an exceptionally strong year. I think the first few heats we had were a little disappointing but we certainly ended on a high.

Oscar's shifty hosting was definitely a highlight  even up to the last minute it showed that this show now is absolutely massive and needs to be in the right hands, or you'll look like a complete joke. He took it well.

12 Cornelia Jakobs: absolute highlight of the year and deserved winner. I had no idea what a Cornelia Jakobs was before Heat 1 but it was quickly pointed out the Love Generation connection. Very refreshing song unlike everything else we've been thrown over the last few years. I was however disappointed to see it was rewarded a full 20 points less than Bagge in the Swedish vote.

10 Cazzi Opeia: Watching this honestly I was shocked she got out of her heat. Absolutely love this, but it's quite niche. You're either going to hate it or love it. I love it. Her voice is absolutely amazing, she sang the song picture perfect in both performances. I had no idea who this was before Melfest but I may have to explore further.

8 Anna Bergendahl: Oh, poor Anna. I felt so bad for her, but - that wasn't her best effort to be honest. I've been following Anna closely since Ashes to Ashes, she completely redeemed herself for me after the snafu with 'This Is My Life'. I think the material she was releasing around Thelma & Louise/Vera/Kingdom Come was far superior to this.

7 6 Klara Hammarström: I was a bit generous this afternoon and I’m knocking this down and moving Medina up. This is such a great song given to such an average singer with a wardrobe department to complement. This happened to her in the last song, she’s trying to tell a story and it’s not working with the song. I’m shocked she didn’t learn her lesson from that Beat of Broken Hearts mistake she had last year. This absolutely would have won if sung, delivered and styled better.

6 7 Medina: Another surprise for me this year, but honestly had no idea who they were before, probably won't be interested in finding out more.

5 Tone Sekelius: I remember seeing something about Tone in the first heat, I absolutely thought My Way was going to goto the final over John, however I was wrong about that. I was very elated to see this place 5th.

4 Liamoo: I always find his entries a little boring. This is nice for a few listens but I want to move on already. Juries ate this up tho, thank god. Took points away from Anders I guess.

3 Faith Kekembo: I actually thought I'd be putting this higher than Liamoo but I didn't. It's also very one hit wonder for me. Good for a few listens and you move on. I do however think Liamoo sold it a bit better on the night and his song has a bit more longevity for me. I do however see Faith having a successful Melodifestivalen career. She's got a lot of talent.

2 Robin Bengtsson: I put him in the same bucket as Liamoo. Predictable. I cringe every time I see his name on the Melfest list. He's giving us what he's always given us which is bland paint by numbers pop music. He didn't deserve to win in 2017 and his entry this year didn't deserve to make it to the final. Oddly enough, the two former winners dead in 12th and 11th. I don't think Robin has any pride however. We will see him snake his way back in a few years. Anna at least may take a few off.

1 Anders Bagge: I've never successfully finished an entire full listen of the song or watched either performance in full. Sweden should be disappointed.

0 John Lundvik: This did nothing for me, but I actually respect it more than what Robin sent to be honest as it seemed like it came more from the heart, but. I won’t be returning to this ever where Robin has a bit more playability for me.

0 Theoz: no.

Honestly, the Jury made the best decision for Sweden.

Hopefully Cornelia has a shot? I haven't paid any attention to what is out there for Eurovision at all minus Norway.

Hold Me Closer is solid but people are really doing WAY too much
