Some great tunes. 'Alone Together' and 'Do You Ever Think Of Me' are interesting. 'Wild Dreams' is also boppin'.

Listening to the Radio 2 performance from this morning.

Generally good, at least it was fully live and I can see why Kian prefers to use playback for his bit in Starlight :P

Will listen to the album either tonight or tomorrow.

Not much sense above i tried to make an estimation on how much Adele will sell next week based on how other acts behaved. I think my prediction can have +- 10%. However its a very big amount of sales to even compete. Unless i am way out of my calculations. Based on spectrum release which was on pre order for 1 year or so, this year we have 4 different versions which might help if fans are there, right? what usually happens to other physical selling artists?

After some listens this is a really good pop album. Could be successfull in europe. There are no songs to skip maybe missing the big hit but still a great one.

What do u think?

No matter how good the songs are they will never have a big hit again, starlight is excellent for me and deserves to be a hit.

I was just about to say that. Starlight has a hit written on it but it simply wasn't for them. I can say that for Alone Together, Alive, Wild Dreams and Do You Ever Think Of Me but its pretty certain it won't be if they release those as singles. I don't think the album is missing a hit

I think I prefer starlight to hello my love but both are right up there with their best singles for me, back in the day it would have been 2 more number 1s, but like so many other artists they are an album and tour act now as that's where money can be made.
If they are an album act they should challenege afele 2nd week - what do u think?
When i say big bit i mean FWW / WOOO/ YRMU type of song :P

I know what you mean but I still say, Starlight is just as good as WOOO, its just current 2020 song. Lifeline is a big ballad as well.

Starlight is the right single off the album. Noticed every five years they have Light on the title on their singles. Lighthouse, Sunlight now Starlight

This album is also their first one not to have a heart or love in the title of the songs

I love this album, so proud of their hard work. even Lifeline and on loudspeaker which is rare for me as I always use headsets. Rewind are growers for me. I keep on repeating this especially uptempos more than Spectrum and some of their previous albums

Charis where did you get the info that they are ahead on the chart?

Latest statement of Westlife about Brian

Kian said his actions after his departure have left him and his bandmates scratching their heads.

He said: “As the years rolled on we didn’t have any contact with Brian.

“He left Westlife, he said he didn’t like the music, he said he didn’t want to sing the songs, and you know, he didn’t want to be going on stage singing the songs we were singing, and he said he’s done. And he told us he wanted to go home to be with his family but then a few months later he had a solo album.

“He said he didn’t want to do music, they were his words to us.

Yeah that must have stung. I always thought he said all that to the public, about how he wanted to be with his family and that the guys knew he wants to go solo. No wonder they never want him back.

Myxxd its no info, its just a thought which makes sense cause adele was stable on around 15k +- albums / day. I would expect westlife to open higher than this, but the silence of occ and keep releasing articles anout every record adele has broken drives me nuts…
It's not as good as 'Spectrum' which was the first Westlife album I really liked. The highlights on this are 'Wild Dreams', 'Do You Ever Think Of Me', 'Magic' and obviously 'Starlight'.

I saw someone on Twitter point out Do You Ever Think Of Me sounds like Chances by Backstreet Boys.

I can hear some similarities but its not a blatant copy if you ask me.

Brian leaving was the best thing to happen them.

Had he stayed I feel he would have caused rows and the band would have split around the time of their third album.

It was hard for them at the time but a blessing in disguise.

Yeah I don't think they would have lasted for 14 years. Brian is a great singer/songwriter but there is always something immature about him. Maybe he is different now but back in the day I remember boys saying it annoyed them he wasn't serious at the proper moment, when it was time to work. You can't just fool around all the time.
