Love for Sale is the final studio album for Bennett who is 95 years old and has Alzheimer's, and the second duet album for the two. Will the poignant background and their intergenerational friendship help the album do well on charts in the UK? Let's predict and discuss!

For reference, Cheek to Cheek debuted at number ten on the UK Albums Chart with sales of 10,469 copies in 2014, and has so far sold around 75,000 units as per this thread.

Other new releases on Friday include a greatest hits album by The Script and a studio album by Headie One among others.

Tony Bennett really doesn't hold the same weight in the UK (or Europe) as he does in the US, plus that sort of jazzy showtunes is more popular over the Atlantic. I'd say it might make the top five due to strong physical sales and a weak market, but #10-#15 wouldn't surprise me either.

Yea it's pretty difficult to predict both of these albums... GH always sell worse than studio albums but have longer tails, on the other hand, LFS is really a wildcard in the UK. It can go either way. Not worse than top ten though, her fanbase alone will make sure of that it sells more than 4k.

I'd say top 5 too which is very good for Tony.

I think it’ll peak higher than Cheek to Cheek although UK opening sales might be a little lower.

Chart run wise I’m less sure of. Potentially can see it having a decent chart run in the lower region of the top 100 though.

I’m gonna buy two copies of the album to help it’s first week out

Top 3 for sure, I think it'll be an all-new Top 3 with The Script and The Specials also debuting there. I think the latter will be #1 though.

From the sales thread it says that Natalies album which was #10 sold 4,382 copies

Wonder what Love For Sale will do with added streams and then there’s cassette sales as well.

iirc Cheek to Cheek climbed from its midweek position in the UK a on debut week so maybe this could do the same?

Are these numbers from the pre-sales or just the copies sold on Friday?

I actually think it’s just Friday sales!

I definitely think Gagas stans alone have done more than than that in pre orders. (Maybe I’m wrong but with the multi formats as well like there’s way more copies of this available than we had for Cheek to Cheek isn’t there or am I just way more invested in this era as I was that)

Often as well we see pre orders added later don’t we or when they’re shipped if orders haven’t been shipped yet I’m waiting on some of mine.
