Ouch at ‘Spit Of You’ falling on Apple so unlikely to be top 40 this week. It is nice to see Elton ahead of ‘Shivers’ again albeit until next Friday!

That Fireboy DML song rising up the lower end of the Apple top 100 is yet another Nigerian song, what a year for that scene if this becomes a big hit as well! (I don't think it is rising as quickly as CKay did though)

Slightly lower debut than I expected for Digga D, apparently this is another song that had a popular preview on TikTok so was expecting it to be another big hit for him - if the quality of it is anything like his last 2 singles though I'm not gonna be complaining if it isn't x

 

Not really sure why this Lana album seems to be getting so much less support than the last one, obviously she's more of a pure seller than streaming driven but this Spotify result is a pretty huge fall off from the last album (which had 3 top 100 entries and 10 top 200 on its first day). Looks like this may be her first album to fail to produce a top 100 single and now a little worried about how the album itself is gonna do, if the streaming drop is reflected in a pure sales drop it might be her first album to miss the top 2 eep (possible vinyl sales disruption not helping). I guess it may have just been too soon for another new album from her? Similar thing happened with Fredo releasing 2 albums this year, not that Fredo and Lana are in any way comparable artists lol

The comparison is most likely because the absolutely massive debut figures of Easy On Me naturally drew comparisons to Shape of You, which was the previous non-"special event" record holder and which also debuted with astronomical figures for its time.
