I’m sorry but Joel, throughout the whole situation with Jesy leaving even before her solo career & the video you have been such a negative person towards Jesy. Everything you’ve had to say about her is negative. I’ve watched you comment at every god given opportunity to say a bad thing about her. It’s obvious you don’t like her, you’ve made it very very clear. Your blood may be boiling because you think she doesn’t give a shit but it’s definitely a personal vendetta you have. I’ve never read so many negative comments than I have from reading yours. So don’t act like you’re hurt by the way she acts because it clearly stems down to the fact you do not like her.

I think a lot of people are missing that it's not about the tan. It's the lips, the braids, the fashion, the grills, the fetishising black men, the...everything about the video.

Think if you read the thread you can see that its not just the tanning. It's the whole package. The tanning is just a small (but very obvious) point. Also, it's not the natural tan she is trying to say it is, come on!!!

This post is extremely callous and you would do well to be less proud of your total ignorance of a situation that causes hurt to so many. Here is an article explaining what blackfishing is. You can watch Jesy's music video on YouTube and draw your own conclusions as to whether or not she's guilty of it, and whether or not you think that blackfishing is actually problematic. What you cannot do, though, is dismiss the concerns of a marginalised group by pretending that they are absurd and laughable. It is really an extremely ugly thing to do.

 

I am disappointed in general that this issue is even controversial on here because it's not been my experience elsewhere. I appreciate that a lot of you have affection for Jesy but there are people in here who are more angry at black people for being offended than they are at a white woman for having done something offensive. I absolutely sympathise with those who can condemn Jesy's actions while also worrying for the consequences of this on her mental health, but this woman literally went on an Instagram live with Nicki Minaj to incite a black aggressor vs innocent white victim narrative. It is indefensible.

I really hope LM never let her return. She’s made her bed, now she has to lie in it.

Sorry I don't know how to embed but here is a thread pretty much proving (as everyone suspected) that Leigh's DM was fake. Which has just made all of this nastiness out of absolutely nothing.

A lot of that thread isn’t conclusively true, because certain phones/apps display Instagram differently (for instance 344K vs 344 k, and the names being swapped around). That user unfollowed everybody after all of the drama he created, he certainly had a following count to begin with.

 

I think the most crucial thing is that if the Leigh messages weren’t real, there surely would have been a very swift debunking - but there hasn’t been.

 

 

It’s kind of wild that this situation ended up being a report on BBC News. I’ll be amazed if Jesy and her team can really continue to stick their heads in the sand. There has to be accountability.

 

(Also I just want to acknowledge how quite a few of you responded and agreed with my earlier post, I’m glad that so many of us have empathy alongside our valid concerns about how Jesy is behaving. I truly hope and want for this situation to reach a conclusion where Jesy listens, learns, apologises and makes positive steps forwards)

We all know they’ve used this ‘drama’ as a marketing tool. The way Nicki was posting the song Links as she went in on Leigh.

He’s just not a nice person, his videos are so so horrible even before this. I’m glad people are finally seeing him for being the vile person he is! Just a shame that Leigh Anne has been dragged into it.

Yeah, the fact Leigh hasn't debunked the messages, means they were real to me. BUT, I still don't think she was wrong. Everyone has said negative things about their friends/ex friends etc when they were hurt/angry/upset. Let's not pretend Jesy (Or any of us!) have never said anything about anything about someone we care about that's negative when in privacy.

 

And I do agree that while I think Jesy is ignorant and being lead down a dangerous path, she's largely being taken advantage of by people who she thinks have her best interests at heart, who will probably not care for her this time next year, sadly. I can say honestly that I do not believe she is a truly callous or malicious person. That's the big difference between herself and Nicki. Nicki will bully someone to get ahead. Jesy is from where I am standing a confused, conflicted and somewhat directionless young woman who I would place bets on, behind closed doors, feeling quite unsettled about how things have gone down between herself and Leigh/Little Mix. Her "wanting to feel accepted/finding a place where she fits", is being taken advantage of and with all due respect I don't think she's quite as tuned in as some people would be see the full picture.

If you actually read the Boyz thread I had changed my opinion after her honest interview with Ferne. I haven’t constantly been negative yes 90% is negative but that’s down to her behaviour.

 

I can openly say what I like thank you, don’t put words or assume the only reason I jump on these things if because I dislike her.

The DM’s seem faked to me though. There’s a thread somewhere where numerous things have been pointed out that are shady AF.
