If Rigoberta would have won the public vote she could have been the winner, but Tanxugueiras entry was too politically inclined that that destroyed her possibilities.

Anyway, Chanel is clearly the best choice for Eurovision, safest when it comes to final results and easily in the top three of best entries/performances for Spain at Eurovision ever.

Rigoberta does not need Eurovision, she will continue doing concerts all around Spain and now in much bigger halls thanks to the Benidorm Fest exposure and being #2 in Spotify as per today, this is massive for any Eurovision related contestant!

I haven’t assumed her performance yet, this girl is completely FIRE. I think is one of our best entries and I’m really happy for her, she has the potential to be an international star ️ .

Ay Mama would have been my favourite Spanish entry since Quédate Conmigo and I'd have been so intrigued as to how it would have done. There's also a chance it could have taken off on TikTok and become a hit following Eurovision exposure, so that's a bit of a loss personally.

Chanel's performance is really strong but SloMo for me doesn't stand out massively musically and I do think Spain had more interesting stuff on offer in a strong national final. I hope it gets them a decent result though as they don't deserve bottom five again.

Both 'Ay Mama' and 'Terra' are very strong and would've been risky entries for Eurovision, which, especially for the Big 5, it's better to be risky than play it safe (UK 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016...). But you cannot deny Chanel gave the best live performance of the night and is ultimately what won it for her. 'SloMo' is generic, yes, but unlike for example 'Say Yay!' in 2016, we know Chanel is going to deliver a brilliant live performance on the night. It's not going to win, but depending on how saturated the female bop category will be this year, I can see it landing a low top 10, top 15, which is a step in the right direction for Spain and hopefully leads on to a continuation of Benidorm Fest, which was a fantastic national selection and can build on Spain's results a bit like France did at the end of the last decade.
I think people looking for gay divas have already found her queen this year. Top 10 potential methinks. ^_^

We hope so.

TELEVOTE PERCENTAGES RELEASED :o

Tanxugueiras: 70,78%

Rigoberta 18,08%

Chanel 3,97%

Varry Brava 2,26%

Rayden 2,12%

Blanca Paloma 1,04%

Xeinn 1,01%

Gonzalo Hermida 0,76%

Not this

Thank god the points weren't proportional.

I was supporting Ay Mama at the time, but I'm very much on board with SloMo being the entry and feel like it's a safer choice. There's nothing for Europe to potentially not 'get' with this one, she's simply SERVED! A BOP!

The only thing I worry about here is them potentially messing up the staging in May. It's already perfect, no need to change a thing!
That’s quite a landslide on the televote for Terra, I didn’t realise it would be quite that popular. Mad really that a song that only attracted around 5% of the public support that that received has got the ticket to Turin over it!

Still obsessed with Ay Mama so Spain it's your loss!!!

SloMo could work to it's full potential ala 'Fuego' or flop ala 'Replay'...so really it could go either way!!

That NF definitely needs a reform to take into account vote percentages holy christ

I can imagine being mad if you were one of the 70% of the Spanish public who saw your fave get discarded for a jury pick with 4%

I just listened to Terra and omg SEND HELP CALL THE POH-LEECE there's been a robbery!

SloMo is *amazing* too so at least they didn't shoot themselves in the foot. f***ing idiotic inconsistent and if I may I say so utterly rigged from the beginning points system they had in place over there. Terra won 2/3 categories if you will yet the """expert""" jury had twice as much power in the end which they conveniently used to f*** Tanxu over.

That's literal favouritism with a big spoon of racism.

This has convinced me to put down a tenner on Spain to win. She’s an absolute STAR

I think we can safely say Spain is a strong contender now that both Albania and Ireland are eliminated from semis.
That performance looked immaculate. The choreo and staging really uplifted the song. On its own the song is good, but not a standout. Chanel elevated it to standout last night and I am pleased it still got top 3.

They've finally put the performance version of the studio track up *.*
