And ASIB is at #47, above other legendary albums like Madonna's True Blue and Like a Virgin, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, Tina Turner's Private Dancer, Beyoncé's I'm Sasha Fierce, Britney's Oops, and Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad.
The Fame is actually the eighth best-selling female album (and should jump to #6 soon), as the Spice Girls are not a singer, but a group.

It’s a list of albums by female acts and Spice is an album by females!!

But it's a band, not a solo act, if we're going to follow that thought then ABBA should also be on the list.

It doesn’t say solo, it’s female albums. ABBA is a mixed act so they wouldn’t count.

Spice Girls in the midst of only solo acts isn't correct.

That your option.

No, that's the truth, we shouldn't put a girl group in the middle of female solo acts. As I said, if they included Spice Girls then they should have included ABBA as well, as as far as I know Frida and Agnetha are women, not men.

ABBA have male members so they can't be a female act

I think The Fame should be excluded from the list as it includes male artists on songs and this is a list of female artists.

Imagine thinking that saying that would be a good idea :spongebob:

This doesn't invalidate the fact that they are women, and to say that ABBA can't be considered a female act just because it has men in it (who don't even sing in the songs) is a sexist statement. All I said is that a girl groups isn't the same as a female solo act.

All I said is that a girl groups isn't the same as a female solo act.

Which has nothing to do with the fact that Official Charts published an article of best selling albums by female artists. Spice Girls are an all-female act, so they're applicable to be considered to have released a "female album". ABBA is not a female artist. They're a male and female artist, which makes them a mixed gender artist.

Spice is by far the best selling album by a female group, that's why they're the only one amongst a list of solo female artists. The second best selling is 1.6m (Spice Girls again, with Spiceworld) which is too low for this list.

What are you on about? Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound?

ABBA are not an all-female act, that's a fact. There is nothing sexist or invalidating about it.
