As we have seen a few discussions on this, which set of albums do you prefer, the 3 studio albums starting their career off or there 3 most recent albums.

I prefer the albums since they have reformed for definite but I can’t deny Step One (minus track 7) is an absolute bop fest.

 

Steptacular is my least favourite.

 

I totally missed LUTW being there.

I went for liking equally as i genuinely enjoy all their albums apart from light up the world, i remember when they reformed i half thought to myself they might comeback with an album that will have 1 or 2 decent songs but i remember first listening to tears on the dancefloor in full and i was so happy they had comeback with such a strong album as i really didnt expect it to be half as good as it was.

Step one remains my fave album, again when i bought it i loved it from the beginning, and ya there is 1 or 2 duds on it but there is loads of brilliant songs on it and in general its just one of those albums that never fails to put a smile on my fave, the album for me highlights simplicity done at its very best.

As a whole since the return however my favourite album is Step One. I put Steptacular for least but that is because I forget about LUTW and didn’t even notice it 🤣

I get why steptacular is getting a couple of least votes but like myself apart from light up the world it's more knit picking to pick the least as all the albums have songs that are great.

From the older albums have any if your opinions changed in later tears, when they reformed I obviously starting revisiting the old stuff more and while not my fave steps album by any means buzz was much better for me now than when released.

I agree with you about Buzz. It’s better now I’ve revisited it.

Im not sure why but at the time Buzz was released i just didnt connect with it as much as i did with step one and steptacular although i still enjoyed it, i think it was a slightly more mature sound that didnt connect with me then but as i said i feel different about it now.

Only I voted for the first option and prefer their classics. :o

All great and all worth purchasing but I have a slight preference for Steps more recent albums.

That said, Step One is my favourite Steps album with Light Up The World my least.

-Love their old albums, especially the singles. The recent work is a stronger body of work as the album tracks are very solid imo. Their old albums have some duds.

I think all of their albums both new and old have 1 or 2 dud tracks but i think that applies to nearly every album from all artists but overall each body of work for me is solid.
