Theje was fine but very Albania by numbers, surprised but very pleased they've gone a slightly different route. Really liked the little bits of English that were part of the performance tonight.

 

Definitely the most enthusiastic I've been about an Albanian entry since 2015, but beyond that I think it's my favourite from them since 2009 even. Hope it pays off and they get a result at least a bit better than their average.

I'm happy that most of you are liking it but something is telling me that this will DNQ!!!

 

Alban would have been a smarter choice (and better IMO) considering he is riding high since he won Kenga Magjike 2021 couple months ago and his success is gaining a lot of momentum!!!

I didn't see his performance last night but his performance on the first night was great.

I am not going to judge until I hear the inevitable revamp.

I think his live wasn't bad at all but the song didn't help him at all. He has to constantly shout at the really high notes and the song structure doesn't vary much to allow room for him to recover. Overall, I think the song is not made for live performance and he has done his best to deliver. Some variation in the structure would improve the song.

Alban could've got a '17th in the final' standard Albanian result but I feel like that would've been the ceiling for him and watching last night it was making me think of "Qami" (Armenia 2018) so maybe even that wouldn't have been guaranteed, I don't think it'll be a big loss for Albania. Hopefully Sekret has more potential pay-off, but we'll have to see what the rest of the field ends up being like and hope that female bops don't crowd each other out again.

I'm trying to like this but I just can't...the whole song needs a revamp...it doesn't have a clear structure and it takes forever to get going but even when it gets going, it's just a mess!!!

 

And I cringed at the english chorus...regret and secret don't rhyme girl if you pronounce them correctly.

First major revamp of the season drops on March 4th

 

Revamp is out and honestly I'm not impressed. :( The original version has a great balance between the modern synths and the traditional instrumental. Now both of them don't go well together and that makes it sound very messy. The buildup to the first drop is a lot weaker than before and I'm not a fan of the melody in the drop.

 

This would have worked amazingly if the song hasn't been changed THAT much. Thankfully she didn't change too much in the lyrics.

First impression of the revamp is that it hasn't been improved. Hopefully I get used to it but honestly I thought the version performed at FiK was pretty perfect as it was.

I thought that with the revamp initially (and I didn't see a need for a revamp) but a couple of listens later, while the drop goes on a little too long and I'd prefer it to end with another chorus, this is still a gem, which is very important this year.

I don't think it has a chance to win but I could see it going top 10 or even top 5 if it gets a good draw.
