Just wondering what the most you've ever paid for an album is? These days some vinyl goes for ridiculous money, have you ever been so tempted that you've paid a lot for something? Also box sets can be incredible prices these days too (see the version of the George Harrison re-release :o )

I think mine is the two disc vinyl edition of The Beautiful South's Carry On Up The Charts as I paid about £140 for it. It's a lot of money to part for an album but I feel it's unlikely that it will ever get a repress and it's quite difficult to find in good condition - it probably won't surprise any of you to know that I can't abide having a substandard condition album in my collection

David Bowie Sound + Vision 3CD/DVD box set USA version (bought when I was on holiday, it had a different track list to the UK version). Can't recall what it cost but prob $60 or so when $60 was worth £80 in today's money.

OR:

ABBA Thank You For The Music 3CD box set of big hits and rarities and B sides and unreleased stuff.

I've never paid £150 for anything music related (except an early music computer that didn't catch on - that was the equivalent of 2k these days down the toilet) :o Not concerts, vinyl, rarities, box sets etc. I was never earning enough in my younger days to be that extravagant, and that turned into habit (ie I'm stingey). Most? Fleetwood Mac tickets, closely followed by Abba Voyage tickets, Cliff Richard in concert.

Never paid anything crazy I think the one I've bought that costed the most was the Damien Rice - O book-vinyl

but cannot recall how much it was... do you remember Dandy? I know you also bought it...

Can’t help I’m afraid. I got mine from a flipper for about £90 - so I assume they were originally cheaper than that

Thanks, maybe it was 60 or something...

but you got yours quite cheap, I Know someone who got it recently on eBay for 200 Euros and I see on Discogs some even paid 300E

I spend £75 on 20th anniversary box set versions of "Dog Man Star" by Suede and "Screamadelica" by Primal Scream. Not sure if they were worth the price, but they do look great.

I was all ready to purchase that box set of Dog Man Star but because it doesn't feature the album on vinyl so I gave it a miss!

I paid €70 for the 20th Anniversary box set of The Holy Bible. It had the vinyl in it so it was worth it.
