England have absolutely zero clue what to do in the final third. No wonder it’s been 6+ hours since our last goal from open play!
This is not the same team that came runners up in the EURO's from last year... utter shambles. Even Germany have beaten Italy 5 - 1
Ha some score that for Hungary, might give them the kick up the arse they need for November!
I don't know, I don't think many people care about the result and it just proves to me as well, how overrated some of our fringe players are. Gallagher has to be one of the most overrated players in the league. The team we put out tonight lacks experience - they crumbled under the pressure. England have certainly overachieved, but the team we put out today was bang average and out midfield cannot dominate the ball.

These games are glorified friendles. None of the players give a f***. People need to chill because it ultimately doesn't matter. Anyone calling for Southgates head is a brainless fool. Judge his performance on the world cup stage.

Is definitely a reality check for some of these players though. Many are massively overrated. Take out Kane and Sterling and I wouldn't call a single other player world class.

These games have been the culmination of way too much football where clearly no one really cares. Absolutely right that these are just glorified friendlies, slightly better but ultimately don't matter at all, absolutely no way does that come close to Euro 2016! On Friday it's two years since the first games post-Covid. Last night was Kane's 141st game, Saka's 132nd. An insane amount of football that's completely unsustainable. Been non-stop for 2 years, after virtually nothing was cancelled, only postponed and crammed into a ridiculous schedule.

The Football Association has confidence in England manager Gareth Southgate, says its chairwoman Debbie Hewitt.

England face relegation in the Nations League following last week's humiliating 4-0 defeat against Hungary.

But in her first public comments since becoming FA chair last year, Hewitt praised Southgate's "resilience and accountability".

England squad

Goalkeepers: Nick Pope (Newcastle), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), Dean Henderson (Nottingham Forest, on loan from Manchester United).

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Conor Coady (on loan at Everton from Wolves), Eric Dier (Tottenham), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Reece James (Chelsea), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Kyle Walker (Manchester City).

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City), Declan Rice ( West Ham), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton).

Forwards: Tammy Abraham (Roma), Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jack Grealish (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), Ivan Toney (Brentford).

Crystal Palace defender Kofi Balmer has received a first Northern Ireland call-up for the final two Nations League matches against Kosovo and Greece.

The 21-year-old former NI Under-21, Ballymena and Larne player moved to Palace last month.

Newcastle full-back Lewis returns after a series of injury setbacks last season.

NI are third in their Nations League group and need a good finish to avoid relegation to the fourth tier.

Ian Baraclough's team have gone 14 matches without a win in the competition and have currently just two points from four games in Group C2.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been added to the England squad for Nations League games against Italy and Germany.

Henderson, 32, was not named in Gareth Southgate's initial squad because of a hamstring injury.

However, the midfielder has now recovered and has joined up with the squad at St George's Park.

He replaces Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips, who withdrew over the weekend with a shoulder problem.

I’m going to England v Germany next week. I just hope we aren’t already relegated by the time it kicks off

We need to beat Italy on Friday!

Kyle Lafferty has been withdrawn from Northern Ireland's Nations League squad amid an investigation by his club into an alleged sectarian remark.

On Thursday, Kilmarnock said they were aware of footage "which appears to show a member of our playing staff using language of a sectarian nature".

The Irish FA said on Friday that it "notes an investigation has been launched into the video" by the club.

It said a "minor back problem" had also prevented Lafferty training this week.
