yes easy #1 for Bastille, they picked a good week

was hoping for a better show from Mitski but at least the UK is not totally ignoring her this time

I was thinking there might be an outside chance of Black Country, New Road nabbing a low sales #1 but yeah it'll probably be Bastille I guess. I liked the lead single from this Bastille album but the subsequent singles have gone back to being pretty mediocre unfortunately, I've struggled to consistently care about them beyond their debut album. (Their last album did only get to #4 though which is the same position BC,NR's debut got to - although there was a ~10k difference between their opening sales (16.2k for Bastille, 6.4k for BC,NR) so I guess Bastille just dropped on a busier week)

Hope Mitski can get a decent enough position, her last album charted at #64 but I think she's gained a pretty significant amount of hype since then.

wasn't expecting Slash at #1!!

come on Big Thief!!!!

I’m guessing Alt-J might take it as I assume they’re one of those acts that have kept hold of most of their audience since their last album plus will probably do well on vinyl. Either that or Ed/Adele who might get some weekend physical purchases from people who watched the BRITs.

Looks like an easy week for Alt J considering their previous album did 16K... they were unlucky in a way cos selling 16K and "only" being #6... but 4-6 all did 16K and Dua beat them to #5 for like 100 copies

found this from their previous time they charted:

Another act who topped the chart with their last album is Leeds' indie rock trio Alt-J, whose second album This Is All Yours opened atop the list on sales of 30,947 in September 2014. Follow-up Relaxer sold 16,119 copies last week, and debuts at No.6. Although it fell short of the Top 10, peaking at No.13, Alt-J's 2012 debut album, An Awesome Wave is well ahead in cumulative sales with a to-date tally of 384,346, more than twice the 160,932 copies that This Is All Yours has sold.

Fingers crossed for an alt-J #1, although I'd kind of expect their sales to be on the decline, their last album (and to an extent also the one before that) wasn't received quite as well as their debut by the fans iirc. Shame because '3WW' is easily their best song, although I think the album as a whole was a slight step down from the first two. Have been a bit mixed on the singles so far from this era, 'Get Better' is stunning though.

Zeal & Ardor in the iTunes top 20 :cheeseblock: idk how much of a fanbase they have but a top 100 position would be great x
