this is the first Bjork release in the "vinyl era", so really hope it benefits her

I imagine it'll be a #1 for Slipknot, their last album sold 31k. Though I wouldn't completely rule out The Snuts if Slipknot's sales are significantly lower than last time, which I feel they might be as there doesn't seem to be the same level of hype as there was in 2019.

They did, but only after a lot of discounting due to them chart battling with Demi Lovato.

Not too sure what to expect from Yeah Yeah Yeahs with this being their first album for 9 years - the last 3 albums charted at #7, #9 and #9, hopefully not too unrealistic that this could be a new peak for them? Fairly busy week though.

Not a massive week this time! I reckon it'll be between Paul/Jacqui and Easy Life. The latter may not be high here, but they weren't with their debut album either and ended up at #2.

Should be an easy #1 for Paul Heaton & Jacqui, their last album 2 years ago opened with 20K

Just checked and Easy Life opened with 15K last time, so they should be #2

Not necessarily easy for Paul/Jacqui then, it’s not a massive difference!

Gutted Oh Wonder aren’t higher. This one might struggle to chart

Interested to hear Darren Hayes new album

Poor willow struggle at moment

I doubt iTunes will be her strength, it doesn’t seem to be for a lot of younger artists who don’t have an insanely devoted fanbase - understandably.

Hope Alvvays can chart decently - I'd have thought they're a similar case to the likes of Soccer Mommy (i.e. massive online indie circle hype but not really translating into commercial success) but looked it up and seen they had a top 40 album in 2017! I hadn't heard any of their music before this year but have been a fan of the first 2 singles from this new album.

Loyle Carner for the top 10!!

It's a shame it's such a busy week! Loyle, Simple Minds, Architects & Dry Cleaning would all be looking at Top 5/3 usually.

Hope Dry Cleaning can at least manage similar sales to their last album even if that might not lead to as high a position this time with it being such a busy week. (Last album debuted at #4 last year with 7.2k).

The Rimzee album came out last week btw!

forgot A-ha had a new album! hope it's top 10

first thing I read about Simple Minds having a new album

right now:

1 Taylor Swift Midnights

2 Arctic Monkeys The Car

3 Taylor Swift Midnights

4 Simple Minds Direction of the Heart

5 Architects the classic symptoms of a broken spirit

6 a-ha True North

7 Loyle Carner hugo
